Many are saying the Chiefs dynasty is done .. I disagree !

This isn’t the NBA where there’s incentives to tanking. TJ Watt is a difference maker. You keep him and pay him a lot of money.

A lot of good qb’s weren’t high draft picks. Heck the greatest QB of all time wasn’t a high draft pick. You guessed it, Tom Brady.
You arent answering the question. To what end? If the point of the season is to be mediocre than they did the right thing. They are and have been a middle of the pack team, not all that good but also not terrible. I'm not advocating them tanking. It's amazing what you can do if you have a few extra draft picks in your pocket. Well run teams move off of star players before the contract out paces their value and they lose all their trade value.

NE
Philly
Chiefs
SF

Etc.

If this Chiefs run isn’t/wasnt a dynasty then there has only been 1 dynasty in NFL history?
The question points to a larger point that I don't keep in front of me.

It seems like just yesterday that Ried joined the Chiefs. But it's been 12 years.

And they've done well under him.

I forget that they had been in the last seven AFC championship games.

Prior to that they did win divisional titles and were in playoff games.

So, I have to admit that it looks and feels like a dynasty.

If you get picks for TJ Watt then you’re pretty much guaranteed to draft players that aren’t as good as him. You’d be taking a step back. Again Watt is a foundational piece. It’s not his fault the Steelers are mediocre. There’s not many players in the league that replicate his kind of production.

the Chiefs will be back !!
It wont be next year if they do come back as serious superbowl contenders. They are going to have to do some MAJOR rebuilding on the offensive line and who knows if Mahomes is going to effective as quarterback in the future with that torn ACL. He is not a pocket passer like dan marino, that is not his game but he wont be able to run around all the time anymore which is his game so he may not be the same quarterback in future years he was in his early career. the last 3 years they have not been a scoring machine at all as they used to be early in his career so we might be seeing the end of the Reid/Mahomes dynasty. If they ever do regain their dominance and and can get back to winning one score games it wont be next season sense they are in rebuilding mode.

Next year is going to be disaterous for them because IF you are going to have a torn ACL injury you want to have it happen at the BEGINNING of the football season cause that gives you over a year to recover and bounce back, when Marino and Brady got hurt it happened at the best time at the beginning of the year.therefore they had time to recover for the start of the next season the next year the fact it happened LATE in the year.Mahomes wont be ready to go by the beginning of the year the fact it happend LATE in the season.

He would be a fool if he did so. Robert griffith tried coming back at the start of the season when he had the same injury in the playoffs and just as i knew he would be,he was totally ineffective that year because he was not ready to come back yet.,he NEVER should have been allowed to come back as soon as he was and Mahomes should not be allowed to come back at the start of the next year either.they need to think of his future and deal with not having a marqee name on the field next season. they need to DEAL with that and think of his future by not brining him back till the 2027 season.

Right, but it’s the exact same chicken/egg debate.

Did Walsh make Montana great or did Montana make Walsh great?
The West Coast Offense took maximum advantage of Montana's talents. Would the 49ers had been as successful with another QB? It seems doubtful. It's just like Buddy Ryan's 4-6 defense. It made the 85 Bears defense a monster, but it wasn't just the scheme. They had monster players.

Hopefully updated techniques of surgery & re-hab will help! I always seem to recall an old "60 Min." episode from decades ago! It had to do w/ a female doctor in Europe who received pro athletes from around the world who had hernia issues! Her technique got these guys back on their feet w/i days, stretching those muscles as soon as possible! Funny it's stuck w/ me for at least 30 yrs.! :dunno:

I'd say Dynasty done. Mahomes was slowing before the Achilles. Kelce should have been released or traded last year. Other receivers are so-so. All they have is a B+ and falling defense. Time to start over IMVHO.

It sucks that the Chiefs dynasty looks to be coming to an end. I lost interest in the NFL when my Rams left LA getting BRIEFLY excited about the NFL again when they came back to LA but have no interest in them now because they dont wear the classic vintage LA colors from the 70's and 80's anymore.,once in a while but NOT all the time like they SHOULD be doing  I always said that if they did not bring back the classic LA colors they might as well stay in stank louis but thats another story in another thread I am going to discuss.

It sucks for me that the Chiefs dynasty looks to be coming to an end because Mahomes gave me a REASON to watch the NFL again. I could not watch the Rams anymore but Mahomes came along and made me start watching the Chiefs every week instead because he is the most exciting quarterback i have ever watched play the game sense John Elway which will be the NEW team I watch sense thanks to Elway,THEY have brought back the classic orange crush jerseys instead of those ugly looking blue sofball uniforms.

Oh really? I see the same helmets? The blue yellow gold. Not suer about the old white?
you are just going by what you saw in thursday nights game when they DID wear the classic vintage jerseys. they either wear those gay looking blue pants or gay looking white pants most the time instead of the classic yellow pants they wore in thursday nights game and in the superbowl a couple years ago.

You mean like Steve Young?

15th post
Young was good at that offense too, he just wasn't as good as Montana which is why he was his backup.

Like Favre a decade later, Montana's skills were waning & he'd taken quite a beating over the years! He was a drag on the salary cap probably! Young's talent & athleticism was so under-utilized! The Chiefs appreciated taking him on w/ Marcus Allen! A very classy team from top to bottom, but unfortunately The Buffalo Bills were the most complete team in the early 90's making 4 straight SB! They were the only AFC team that could even challenge the best NFC Super Teams of that era! The AFC had > talent, better QB's, & spent > $$, but Dallas, GB, & SF just owned it year after year! :D

The chiefs proved to be the right fit for Montana because incredibly them and the cardinals were the only two teams interested in him and it was a no brainer to go with the chiefs sense they were a right for for him being a previous playoff team the last couple years.he was what they needed to got over the hump of being one and done once they got into the playoffs taking them to their first championship game in 25 years because he was STILL clutch.the second half of his second season with them he could no longer throw the ball deep down the field so he knew it was time to hang it up after that. he would never had succedded being a superbowl contender with the cardinals.

That was the same thing with brady, the buccaneers were a perfect fit for him because they only one 7 games the previous year and the majority of their losses were by one score.they just needed a good quarterback to be a playoff contender to win those one score games.had they one the one score games the previous year they would have won 13 games.

had he played for the jets, they would never have turned things around and been a playoff contender the fact they got BLOWN out many timess that year and the previous year.
