Who cares what anyone's poll says? Birthright citizenship for illegal immigrants is OBVIOUSLY NOT SUPPORTED by the Constitution. Period. End of story. The poorly worded 14th Amendment is treated like legal Play-Doh by the Democrats to support their anti-American agenda.

No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
 
Any polls that conclude that Americans favor "birthright citizenship" are nothing more than a manifestation of the fact that poll results can be manipulated by how the question is presented. There is NFW that a majority of Americans support this perverse, destructive phenomenon.

The term, "anchor baby" is absolutely apropos of what happens, as any attempt to deport the mother is called out in Congress and the Media as "the government separating families by force!" regardless of how illogical that characterization might be.

The 14th Amendment is not particularly ambiguous on the matter, and only a partisan could conclude that it was intended to bring about the perverse result that "we" have lived with for so long.

Sadly, there is simply too much inertia in the wrong direction, and the USSC will undoubtedly go along with the current practice and do a lot of lawyer-talk to justify it. 5-4 decision, with the CJ writing the court's opinion. You read it here first. Everything from now until then will be nothing more than theater.
 
For those objecting to birthright citizenship, how exactly would you improve upon the wording of "The poorly worded 14th Amendment"?
