The river rose 26 FEET in 45 MINUTES and the flash flood struck at 4 am when everyone was sleeping.

This camp is in the middle of nowhere. One of the complaints by past employees is the lack of cell coverage out there. The kids weren't allowed to even have cell phones and the grown ups phones didn't even work well or at all.

All of that is true, but has nothing to do with the deaths that have occurred. But Texas kind of deserves any economic hardship that it has to endure from repeated natural disasters. Why? They continue to vote for politicians who do not put them first, do not put the state of Texas first, ecologically, and treat the state like a big cash register. In my mind, Texans are the biggest hypocrites in the country. They can't survive without immigrant labor, yet rail against them politically. They talk a lot of shit about oil and fossil fuel, yet lead the country in land used for solar panels.
