MAGA crowd. Do these people have enough knowledge or ability to evaluate/assess who should be president, that we can have confidence in their pick?

Smarts are not a requirement for voting. Why shouldn't the dumbest country in the world elect dumb leaders? It's equilibrium.

The MAGA crowd gave us a clear manifesto of what needs to be done in the U.S., having chosen Trump for our next president.

The question comes up that is being asked is "do these MAGA people have enough brains, knowledge, evaluating/assessing capabilities that would make us feel comfortable that they chose wisely?

Here is one example showing some of the MAGA crowd

Having put that video up, it can be said by some that the video does not truly represent the MAGA crowd or only represents a small "cherry picked" portion of the MAGA people.

In doing some additional research, I did find an article that goes in a totally different direction but it does paint a much more informative picture of one of the things that is truly happening, and not only to the Trump supporters but to the Trump detractors. That is the idea that Trump is NOT A PERSON!

"not a person"? c'mon, Trump is a person and there is no doubt about it, right?

Well the article goes into the people's perception that Trump is God (Trumper's view) or that Trump is the Devil (anti-trumpers view). This is certainly crazy and against knowledge and beliefs (there is no God and no Satan) that are centered in reality...........but then again, it certainly fits in perfectly into what most people have been saying about Trump............he is God............he is Satan!

Here is the article that talks about this:

Trumpism. In the minds of his most ardent supporters, the ex-president is both more and less than a person

Americans today see two contradictory futures looming in the middle distance: In one scenario, Donald Trump is convicted of serious crimes and sent to prison. In the second, he returns to the presidency in 2025. How is it possible that a twice-impeached former president facing 91 criminal counts can now be elected to return to the Oval Office? Why do his supporters not recoil when Trump promises to unleash an authoritarian regime as president and to assume the role of dictator on Day One? What explains his enduring appeal?

It is worth noting that Murray’s (Harvard Psychologist) characterization of Satan bears an uncanny resemblance to the psychological portrait of Trump painted by many psychologists today. A malignant narcissism rages at the core of Satan’s personality. Cast out of heaven for his overmastering pride, Satan wants to be God, resents the fact that he is not God and insists that his supreme worth entitles him to privileges that nobody else should enjoy while undergirding his reign as sovereign of the mortal world below.

On the other side, Trump has often compared himself to a superhero. He has famously described himself as a “stable genius” who has never made a mistake. He is not lying when he makes these outrageous claims, for Trump truly believes them to be true, just as he believes he won the 2020 election. Trump is like a golden god in his mind and in the minds of many of his supporters: a superhero, able to do things that no other human can do; a warrior who fights furiously to win every battle, completely immersed in the moment. His very identity is the supremely heroic role he plays on TV and in real life. The role is charismatic and mesmerizing

After reading this article and having experienced everything said (great and horrible) about Trump, this ("not a person") view, seems to be reality we are actually experiencing.

Having said all of the above, what does this say about us (All Americans) that believe in the unbelievable?

One tangible thing that is very worrisome (when all is considered) is that talking about all Americans believing the unbelievable is bad enough, but when you consider that Trump himself (the elected president) believes he is God (or at least believes he was "chosen by God") comes into the equation, this is really scary scenario.

What do you think about this God or Satan idea that is being seen now?

What do you think about this God or Satan idea that is being seen now?

/—-/ You’re unhinged. Seriously, get a hobby, take up knitting, anything to occupy your mind for the next four years.

The question comes up that is being asked is "do these MAGA people have enough brains, knowledge, evaluating/assessing capabilities that would make us feel comfortable that they chose wisely?
Are you suggesting some sort of literacy or functional test for casting a vote? If so, who do you have in mind for enforcing this? Maybe a poll tax too, to help finance the parties do "the work of the people". Good grief.

Why don't you then answer me what the word "United" States of American means, is not a team that plays a united game?
Literally it means 13 former colonies, now states, joined together as one independant nation

What do you think it means?

I love opposing view as that is what I seek. What I hate is opposing views that cannot be supported by data, statistics, and facts. To me, those are what are the basics of life and when those basics are thrown away for opinion, I throw the person away because they do not debate, they orate.

Let me ask you a simple question, which I believe you will not answer.

If you were Jewish and debating with Hamas (who wants you dead simply because of your religion), would you stick around and continue to debate with them uselessly, or ignore them and continue doing what you believe is right? Would you be "tolerant" of their one-view minds?

Answer that question and I will see if I have any desire to continue communication with you.
You might as well just consider all your shill threads soliloquy.

If you don’t believe in a god an a satan you’re just a misinformed moron in my eyes so **** off

Are you suggesting some sort of literacy or functional test for casting a vote? If so, who do you have in mind for enforcing this? Maybe a poll tax too, to help finance the parties do "the work of the people". Good grief.
A literacy test would be to the advantage of Republicans. The vast majority of welfare leeches are Democrats.

Over the past 35 years, the Democrats at no time saw their nominee or elected president as a God.

Many Democrats are secular and virtually all secularists are Democrats. That being the case, they tend to depend more on the President and other worldly people for their sense of security. In that vein, yes, Democratic presidents are Gods to many Democrats.

Do you believe there is a God?

Absolutely

if you do believe there is a God, do you believe Trump is God (or chosen by God)?

Trump is not God and I most certainly don’t worship him. I do believe that if God were to choose between today’s Democrat or Republican he would choose a Republican if for no other reason than the Democratic Party promotes and fosters atheism and very un-Godly policies and ideas.

This is an OP about blindness-by-choice, ignorance, belief in God or Satan (by either side) and people not evaluating a situation with their brains but with their hearts or worse still by their testicles or vaginas.

It seems as though you are attempting to belittle those of us that do believe in God. It is as if you don’t believe that we are able to think or evaluate a situation because we have come to the conclusion that all the splendor of the world, with its thousands of planets and stars and life was not created by pure happenstance out of literally nothing. I would argue that it is people like you that are illogical, or at the very least, whose hubris won’t allow them to entertain the idea that they may be wrong.

Regardless, I would welcome a civics and current events test in order to vote. Democrats would never win another election with such a test.

If you don’t believe in a god an a satan you’re just a misinformed moron in my eyes so **** off
I do believe in God and Satan. By the same token, I believe that God put us on earth to make our own choices (prove ourselves) in order for out souls to end up going to heaven or hell and that Satan is here to tempt us to make the wrong choices.

God showed us the path to follow through Jesus. I do not believe God is "running" our lives, meaning putting Trump here to steer our way. Nonetheless, it is certainly possible that Satan is working through Trump to have us choose the wrong way, given that Trump has no morals, ethics,, principles or humanity.

The key word is United, meaning working TOGETHER for a common goal.

What I am suggesting is that they are not using their brains to make the right choice. They are using their emotions and their emotions are being manipulated by a con artist.

And the people who voted for someone who couldn’t answer a basic question - and was only in that position due to her being a female black - were using their brains? The idiot couldn’t even cite the Pledge of Allegiance!

The key word is United, meaning working TOGETHER for a common goal.
We should be united? Is the way to do that by insulting tens of millions of Americans whom you called too ignorant or stupid to vote?
