Nobody in an area where rents are $1200 or more is earning less than $12 or $13 an hour, or double the minimum, anyway. Such a person can rent a 2-bedroom for $1700, get a roommate so that his share is only $850, and then work a part-time job a few nights a week. If he doesn’t like that, he can take a six-month certificate of some sort, and earn more money.

English speakers conflate socialism and communism totally, while the French Germans Spanish Italians know exactly what socialism is because they had socialist parties until socialism won in the 1970s '80s and '90s.
