I look at some things that China is doing, that are smarter than what we are doing.

The real issue isn't "Communism" vs. "Capitalism". China is a lot more capitalist than we are, and for a lot longer. Heck, the Chinese invented paper money just so they could do trade more efficiently. (Centuries before it was adopted in the West.)

The difference between America and China is that America is a "democracy', while China is a "technocracy". Democracy fails when people stop taking their votes seriously. You know, when they elect actors or game show hosts because they like the cut of their jib.

A Technocracy elevates the best in its fields.

The left has always slandered every Republican president including Reagan. They do it one of two ways: They first try to paint them as dunces. If that clearly doesn't work, they go for "evil".
So here's how it worked:
Reagan: Dumb. Uninterested in details.
Bush 41: Out of touch. Dumb. Lapdog.
Bush 43: Dumb, evil
Trump: Evil

The smarter they are, the more they are painted as evil. Nobody could touch Cheney in a debate, so he was the epitome of evil. With Trump, there is no dispute he is brilliant, so they again go for evil. The most evil man in history. Vance and Rubio are both brilliant and would slaughter any leftist in a debate, so whichever is the nominee will be painted as pure evil. If Cortez is the Democrat nominee, she'll play the race/gender/class victim card in a debate, as she has no chance.

Well, Ronny had a knack for speaking, much like Obumma, a performance art that I had hoped would rub off a little on Trump in the intervening years but it hasn't. If anything, Trump's public speaking has deteriorated over what it once was back in 2016, etc. Back then, Trump was sharper, wittier, but he has softened and blurred a lot in recent years. Trump has had the focus whipped out of him by years and years of weaponized lawfare used against him.


Reagan understood diplomacy, engaging your enemy by disarming them with tact and humor--- a victimless action. Reagan was the Johnny Carson of politics. Trump is more like the David Letterman of politics, sooner or later, you just know that Trump will victimize someone with his humor, or at the very least, use it to direct flattery and praise for himself. Mind you, it is usually praise that would be lavished on him by an adoring media if he were a democrat, so I kinda let him skate a little bit.

But as to Reagan being loved, everyone loved him except the GOP, the GOP Party hated him and many in the GOP (much like Trump) fought his nomination, but Ronny was just too popular.

Reagan's performance as president at the very least projected that he had all Americans best interests in mind. I will not say the same for the orange bag 'O shit.

Reagan was very very good and had an affable disposition. But I rate Trump higher because his urgency to get the important things done, previously viewed as untouchable. Who would think you could touch DEI and political correctness. Formerly, anybody who ran afoul in those areas was history. Trump doubled down on it, and won. If Trump had time, he could overhaul the entire tax system. He is that talented.
Trump is the kind of guy that could have been president for 40 years had the law allowed it and had he been of a mind to run back in the 80s. Back then, he was lightning fast at debating and responding. The intelligence level was an is off the charts.

When I was a Democrat, we befriended the Jews. Truman to his magnificent credit immediately recognized Israel when it was restored to rightful owners. Well sure. Trump is a businessman with a flare for showmanship, but Reagan was a polished actor and public speaker. Reagan memorized a script, while Trump wings it best off the cuff. Trump puts on a good show but Reagan was the show.

I grew up a democrat in a blue city. My mom held elected democrat office. Democrats sought justice and equality for the little man. Then as I left my teens, I slowly, unconsciously swung over to being more and more conservative. Today, the GOP is more like what the DNC was back in the 1970s. And time has proven me right.
