They shouldn't have been having sex in the bathroom, BUT - they were asked to leave, and they were complying. They didn't argue, or put up a fight, they had left the premises and that should have been that.
What happened outside the store was not their fault.

It was also be nice to know what kind of sexual activity they were engaged in - 'some type of sexual activity' doesn't cut it. If they were actually having sex, it would have been obvious.

There was an escalation. Now if it was two women sitting there munching on a hamburger instead of each other and some madman walked up and stabbed one of them out of the blue your position of outrage would be correct. We know what led to the confrontation. Their own despicable behavior. Seven customers were outraged enough engage in confrontation. We don't know what caused the escalation.

Just admit that when you said "all we want are legal benefits" you were lying. You want much much more than that.

Of course you hate the whole idea of these kinds of attacks being expected. It violates your sense of personal freedom. The reality is that they should, in an exercise of normal prudence be expected. People are losing faith in the law.

If it were a heterosexual couple playing with each other in the bathroom, the dining room crowd would have probably been cheering when the two were escorted out. This is about people being offended by homosexuality and believing all non-heteros are perverts; but this is not about a mob being violent or attacking them: it is about an argument ensuing and one woman acting out with physical violence.
