Couple Called 911 After ‘Disoriented’ Woman Knocked on Their Door. She Froze to Death While Waiting for Help to Arrive: Lawsuit

Maybe you could have found a way to help the poor freezing woman from behind your keyboard.

That would have been better than explaining to yourself from the inside the door, while she froze. . . why you shouldn't.
Could the people claim fear of ambush?

Who knows what had gone on around them.

I live in a very very very very safe neighborhood in Mesa Arizona. But women here have told me they won't open the door, even for people they know, if their husbands are not home.

I scratch my head and wonder how we got here. I am not critical of them. I think we breed this daily.

I would tend to agree with your statement, but it seems that we have lawyers who will jump on just about anything these days.

Please do stay away.

If you need money to move to Cuba, I'll contribute.
Funny, heard something really interesting about Cuba the other day. Doctors. Turns out, that is a huge part of how Cuba generates revenue. Doctors. They have doctors serving in countries around the world, something like sixty plus. The doctors get paid more than they make in Cuba, which isn't much, but they like it. And those other countries, they pay Cuba, big bucks, because they need doctors.

Funny, we struggle to get good doctors to come here. Cuba exports them.

Right.

So pick up the phone and call a neighbor, the fire department, your church, or someone to see if they are too scared as well.

Freezing to death isn't instantaneous.

The family of an Alaska woman who died of hypothermia amid freezing temperatures has filed a wrongful death lawsuit, alleging that a 911 dispatcher failed to adequately help her in time.

Why didn't the people inside the apartment try to give her some help?

If I were filing, I would file not only against the township for not responding sooner but more against the family whoever was living at the house where she knocked, who left her outside to freeze to death. That is culpable negligence which contributed to the death of another.

I'm old, so I have a personal story for just about everything.

I have witnessed a person being abducted, and I got involved to stop it. I have been first on the scene of bad traffic accidents, and I got involved to give first aid.

During the height of the AIDS epidemic, a homeless man fell in the parking lot outside my girlfriend's apartment. He was black, he reeked of urine, and he was gushing blood from his neck.

Nobody would help him for fear of AIDS.

I feel the same in this thread as I did on that day.

"What the **** is wrong with you people?"

Give me some towels and a wet washcloth, and call 911.

There is no negligence unless this family negligently put her in the position where she froze to death. Merely, intentionally, doing nothing isn't negligence nor is it actionable.

The Christian in me says I will help the less fortunate. It's what Jesus taught, incessantly. The prosperity principle is fake.
