His squirming is justified. He was so bent on trying to secure a conviction he lost sight of his ethical obligations. I know it’s kind of trite sounding, but the truth is that it is NOT the job of a government prosecutor to obtain convictions. Seriously. It’s not.

it is their job and solemn professional duty and obligation to seek Justice. Sometimes justice requires an acquittal. But it absolutely never is supposed to lead a prosecutor to do some of the things this that prosecutor has done.

There's an op ed article talking about how politics is the focus of this trial....the Mayor himself is there with a stand in and the mayor's cousin is one of the detectives. Also that heavy pressure is being applied to the prosecutor's office to get a conviction.
