Yes, when I read a verse like Jeremiah 25:15 stating that God was going to send through "the nations" a curse under the appearance of a cup of wine, identified as a sword, that when drunk "they will vomit and go mad" God opened my mind to see the connection to Jesus saying that he did not come to bring peace but a sword not to mention Revelation 19:15 that clearly states that the sword that came out of his mouth was to SMITE the nations.
