Hmm, last I checked, the Chinese civil war in 1949 resulted in the establishment of the ROC (Taiwan) and the PRC as separate sovereignties, complete with Taiwan having its own flag, anthem and seal.

When the Korean War started, it was North Koreans against South Koreans, and the South Koreans weren't that keen to fight for the corrupt dictatorship we set up in the South. We took advantage and tried to take over the whole country, which is why China stepped in.
