You're not wrong. The only qualifications are those in the constitution. (35 years old, U.S. Citizen born in the U.S., etc.)

The only other qualification is voter qualification. Will voters approve?

Honestly, if Joe Biden were smart (he's not), he would pick somebody who is much younger, who could be at the top of the ticket, but of the Democrat candidates or those on his short list, I don't know who that would be. They all suck.

Joe has to pick someone that people would vote for for president, because it appears that he's not gonna make it past year.

Joe Biden would be INCREDIBLY dangerous if he picked Jo Jorgensen (Libertarian POTUS nominee). That would suck up a bunch of independents, and America would finally get a third-party candidate in a likely position to take the White House.
