Zone1 is there anything you like about the Catholic church?

sounds like a good idea. I'm glad some Catholics are evangelizing... doesn't appear to be a favorite activity of Catholics, generally speaking...
.

I didn't think I'd want to evangelize, but when you love someone, you have to share the best thing in your life. I've had a miracle in my life and I've met two other people who had miracles. It's hard to not want to share that.

ok.. LOL but you probably don't want to share what the miracles were?

I think I have had miracles happen also, but there's really no way to prove it to anyone but myself.

One of them is easy to share. A wonderful guy who does my lawn care and snow removal. He was on the roof of a three story building, working on shingles or something, and he slipped and fell. He remembered thinking that he would surely die or at least break his neck. Then a force grabbed him and lowered him gently to the ground.

He is a well known person in my town and I've never met a single person who didn't have the greatest respect for him. Totally sober, Catholic man.

Another man had a bad rollover accident, in which neither he nor his two little girls were injured. He thought the truck was totaled, but when he went back, rolled it back right side up and put the key in the ignition, it drove fine. Except that the radio, which was always set on a country station, would only play the Catholic station forever afterward! This experience converted him, and his two little girls grew up to accept religious life, becoming a Carmelite and a Capuchin sister.

Some day, if I decide I know you well enough, I'll tell you about mine.

Thanks, that was interesting.

I thought you meant something that happened to you, but those were great stories. I didn't think anyone could survive a 3rd story fall..

I really don't know if my own stories are miracles or just.. well, there could be a logical explanation for what happened.. On this one thing, it may take some time to find out... but I believe God does "small miracles" for us and maybe we won't find out about it until we leave Earth, hopefully going in the right direction :)

Oh, I did have my own miracle, but this den of hyenas is not someplace I'm going to share it. You understand.

LOL at your word choice

"den of hyenas"

Yeh, but don't hyenas give the appearance of laughing?

Most of these folks are not exactly amusing, and certainly not making yours truly laugh all the time...

:)

And a life style of being parasites and carrion eaters.

LOL

Yes, some posters really do seem to want to bite you (at least). It's like they live for that or something.

I just put them on Ignore... which come to think of it.. I haven't done that in some time. That's odd. Hmmm... either I'm becoming more tolerant or... people today are less annoying than, say, 3 months ago.

I don't think people are becoming less annoying (or more tolerant of Catholics), though... nope

I like the Real Presence of Christ, which is different from the presence you feel while reading the Word, although that is great also.

There's nothing like being there...

:)

Jesus is far more interesting than non-Catholics know... and it's always nice to be with someone who knows everything about you

and doesn't condemn you because you're not perfect

LOL

Yeah, my handy dandy patented STFU Cage is getting a little crowded.

No, we feel the Catholic hate every day.

"it drove fine" - that was some miracle that guy experienced, did he also drive off before the sobriety test ... can't wait to hear yours.

one thing ….

the incense

I like the concept of Purgatory because I do believe that Roman Catholics are more willing to take near death experience accounts seriously and learn from them.

I do believe that Roman Catholics were a driving force behind the success of the book and movie "Heaven is for Real" about the NDE of little Colton Burpo that was done by his Nazarene Pastor Todd Burpo. Many Protestant churches were too skeptical of that powerful book and movie.

Roman Catholics also tended to back up former Atheist Howard Storm.

Zebra, you are doing an awesome job of getting us to think and meditate on something positive about other groups. I believe that what you are accomplishing by doing that is really important.
