Is Talent and ability to accomplish major goals in life something that Trump (and his supporters) against?

I think we need to separate two things here: talent and accomplishment versus political opinion.

I can fully appreciate the skill of a great singer, actor, or even a political leader, without feeling obligated to adopt their personal views. Success in one area of life doesn’t necessarily make someone a guide for everyone else’s political decisions. We all come from different experiences, backgrounds, and environments that shape how we see the world, and that’s where our political beliefs naturally diverge.

To me, it isn’t about being “against” someone’s success or talent if I disagree with their political perspective. I can admire Robert Redford as an actor, or Taylor Swift as a performer, and still think for myself when it comes to who I support as president. Reducing it down to “you must agree with them politically or else you hate their talent” seems shallow.

In fact, it feels less like Trump supporters devaluing talent, and more like some celebrities using their platforms to criticize Trump, which in turn creates tension. Many of us don’t base our votes on what a celebrity thinks—just as they’re free to speak, we’re free to weigh their views however we see fit.

At the end of the day, the American Dream has always been about individuality: the freedom to pursue your own path, develop your talents, and hold your own views. I don’t need to agree politically with someone in order to celebrate their accomplishments, and I don’t need their endorsement to decide what’s best for me or the country.
BTW: Prince never said anything politically for or against Trump and Adele is on your list twice.

Oh, so this ***** Luckyone used dead Prince the musical genius in his lie, too?
What a shitbag. I stopped after the 1st 2 I knew were dead or Canadian.
Yeah, Prince didn't say that, liar OP.

This is an opinion piece (mine). It is both an opinion but a question as well.

"Is talent and ability to accomplish goals in life something Trump (and his supporters) against?

This morning when I heard the news that Robert Redford died yesterday, this thought (the OP question) came into my mind. Robert Redford was vocally against Trump and his goals, but so are a huge amount of people that have shown high talent, have accomplished major goals in life, and are generally not only respected but lauded by most Americans.

Here is a partial list of them:
  • SINGERS
  • The Rolling Stones
  • Neil Young
  • Adele
  • Rihanna
  • The White Stripes
  • Isaac Hayes
  • Elton John

  • Mark Esper
  • John Kelly
  • Jim Mattis
  • H.R. McMaster
  • FORMER PRESIDENTS
  • Barack Obama
  • George W. Bush
  • Bill Clinton
  • Jimmy Carter
On the other side of the coin, the amount of talented and well-known singers/actors/military leaders/ex-presidents that have supported and lauded Trump, is a very small amount (less than 10).

On top of all of this, one thing that has also surprised me to the nth degree, is that those Americans that have achieved great success in life and are generally lauded and respected by Americans, have been debased and pissed-on by Trump supporters (across the board). To me, that means that having worked hard and having had the ability to reach one's goals in life has no importance to Trump supporters. That earning the respect and good treatment by Trump supporters, we all have to support Trump.............or otherwise we are garbage.

Is this (supporting one person and nothing else being important) what the American Dream has become (according to the Far Right)?
ILMAO that "talent" equates to something you're looking for. This just in Luckyonce, the following make up liberal Democrats.

A. Young and unwise who are easy targets for propaganda, and who are idealists.

B. Unhappy women, usually single and post menopausal.

C. Men with a leash strapped around their balls as they're led astray by unhappy women.

D. Twisted heads, and more, ALL liberal democrats are intellectually dishonest. Cowardly really, and lazy thinkers.

E. People who embrace victimization, often attracting people with guilty conscious.

F. And finally, socialites, spoiled and pampered people, who don't have a clue what it's like in the real world as they sip champaign on their beaches while scheduling massage and spa treatment for their poodles. These people are idealists too, so long as someone else pays for it, and does the work so they're not bothered with it. They live a dream on and off the camera, and simply want to be hip and fit into an entertainment industry with other liberal elites for a safe space and survival.

DEI isn’t about talent.

That (Trump's ability and accomplishments or not) is not what this OP is about.

Do you have the ability to read and interpret words correctly? See all my posts on this thread, so that it can clear up in your mind what this OP is about!

Do you have the ability to do that?
I think the topic is drug-soaked Hollywood misfits and their mindless hate for trump

They live in a make believe world that has no influence over me

Your post suggests that you don't believe that morals, ethics, principles, humanity and respect are no longer important now ("make believe world").

As such and since they continue to be important to me, we have nothing more to talk about.

Dude, try reading my first post, this time comprehend what I posted.
You on the other hand, stated a list of those that YOU believe in.
Then instead of stating the opposite side, you said there are 10. You did no research,
just threw out a number.. You are being disingenuous.
Life is a gamble and as such, the probabilities of one outcome or another are important to know. You can sometimes go with the longshot, but if you do that all the time, in the end you will lose everything

What you just did there was show that you have not listened at all to what MAGA has said about these various members of the elite.

THey are not attacked for their success.

They are attacked for the idea that that success gives them the right to be disrespectful to us or our ideas.

That is the primary point raised by your op. Though there are others.

Life is a gamble and as such, the probabilities of one outcome or another are important to know. You can sometimes go with the longshot, but if you do that all the time, in the end you will lose everything
Life not so much of a gamble when a person uses common sense.
I can see why you think it's such a gamble though from reading your posts.

Because these people have been debasing US first.

Talking harshly BACK to an asshole, is completely called for.

That’s a fair question. I don’t think it’s about saying these people aren’t “worth anything.” Most of us can recognize and enjoy their talent. What happens is that when someone uses their platform to speak strongly against Trump or his supporters, many take it personally and respond in kind. It becomes less about their success or ability, and more about the clash of views.

For my part, I can separate the two—I can admire a person’s music or acting while disagreeing with their politics. Disagreement doesn’t mean I don’t value them; it just means I don’t follow their political advice.

...simply because they have voiced their negative opinions on Trump. You don't have to follow or agree with their opinions, but you should at least respect their opinion, simply because these people have been doer's and accomplishers, which is what Republicans in the past have always respected and supported.

Why are they no longer respecting these people (they are debasing them because they oppose Trump)? Why has life's accomplishment no longer an important platform for the Trump supporters?

Can you answer this SIMPLE question?

These people have not respected our opinions.

They do not make my world go 'round in ary a way. None.
I'd be more influenced by some horse breeder that's selling his herds' manes and tails for weaves.
I could make money on that. :dunno:
Black women wear horse manes and tails. A lot of the time. And I know people in town that make the weaves.

I understand that fully but that is pure hypocrisy as these people have basically accomplished the goals (personal success through hard work, dedication, and talent) and yet they debase those people simply because they have a different opinion.

The reality in life is that you can still respect (and show respect) for people even though they disagree with your thinking.

As you know, I hate what Trump is and how he does things, but my accountant for 40 years was a Trump supporter, and I listened to his views and respected him for having them and to the day he died, he was my friend and someone who had my total respect.

This OP is all about those that don't follow those human morality guidelines, and by the responses seen here, there are a lot of them on this message board.

I will also take this opportunity to make clear that I don't personally follow what anyone says or believes (as many have accused me here of doing that). I am my own man and make all my decisions based on my own research and studies and not how anyone else thinks.

Having said that and been a stock market analyst for 49 years, one always has to give some value and importance to the opinions of those people that have accomplished their goals in life successfully, ESPECIALLY when the number is very high (compared to the other side). If the number of famous artists, singers, military people and ex-presidents tilt strongly to one side and the opposite side is scant, it is totally normal to ask and wonder "why is the number so disproportionately favoring one view"?

The amount that support the President appears to be small because many people are fearful of reprisals like losing their jobs and/or support for their popularity.

The reality in life is that you can still respect (and show respect) for people even though they disagree with your thinking.

It is the right that generally does that. It is the LEFT that likes to pretend that every policy difference is the other person being a bad person of some type.

Two obvious answers.

1. Difference of interests. If maga is about serving the interests of say, blue collar workers, and undermining that of the elite. So... different opinon.

2. Gatekeeping. THe elite for who knows how long, has been discriminating against traditional AMERICANS, and thus, they are underrepresented among the elite.
