Nation building is a term that has gotten some play recently.
But I contend that we aren’t actually engaged in any attempt at nation building.
Instead, we are taking action to destroy the illicit government of Iran — which even its own people want to be destroyed.

When the theocracy falls, those “guards” will be unemployed. But yeah: they will still be there and probably engaged in some new variant of suppression and oppression even after the “government” is destroyed.

A hole card would be nice. But crafting a responsible government will take Herculean effort by some Iranians. They need an Iranian equivalent of a Jefferson and an Adams and a Franklin and an Hamilton and a Washington.

I can't help but wonder how much suffering and death to American women could have been avoided if we'd had a President Donald Trump in 1979, who would have had the brass to take out the Ayatollah Khomeini, thus freeing ALL women in Iran, not just the Iranian women. There were many American women who were imprisoned, tortured and killed there by their Iranian husbands. By Sharia Law, an Iranian man owns his wife and daughters, and can do anything to them that he wants to do.
