Zone1 Is Antisemitism the Same as Racism?

I think racism is a belief in a racial hierarchy, wherein "lower" races have less value than "higher" races. Except for Nazi propaganda, I don't think that Jewish people are thought to have less value than other people.
Correct on all points.

And there are various words to describe discrimination against a religion, in the case of Judaism, it's called Antisemitism. Racism and Antisemitism are different.

Some hate Muslims, some hate Jews, some hate Christians, some hate Atheists......... for bizarre reasons.

I am trying to understand what, exactly, anti-Semitism is. Is it merely a personal dislike of Jewish people, or is it a general opposition to their perceived ideologies? If the former, is it based on a belief that they are superior or inferior to other people in some way? If the latter, is it based on politics or some other factors? Is it the same as Racism?
rule 1 about discussions, IRL or online : assume everyone has a different definition about even basic words. the alignment of these defs is called 'the definition game'. yes, that's in the slang dictionaries. you can google for it.
rule 2 : never let anyone push their exact definition on to you and your thoughts / feelings. if you can't find common ground about some definition, there is usually a flawed interpretation of your words at the opposite end, and then you should -momentarily- work with "their"/his/her definition instead, but only to point out inconsistencies, since they refuse to think from the perspective of your own definition.

Excellent question! I find it interesting that my 1984 Websters defines it thusly: One of a Middle Eastern people of Caucasian stock comprising chiefly the Jews and Arabs but in ancient times also including the Babylonians, Assyrians, Canaanites, Arameans and Phoenicians. 2) One of the people descended from Shem.
