'Intentional homicide' includes self defense cases, and non-gun related homicides as well.

Whether intentional or not on the part of the UN map makers, it does display the fact that generally a civilian population is safer if allowed to be self-empowered by allowing them to be armed.

Problem is for the government-fix-all types, that also allows the citizens to defend themselves from the government, and so they undermine when they can.

I completely agree, this makes a good point that more people should pay attention to.
