Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) predicted on the Senate floor that his Democratic colleagues will find a reason to block funding legislation and trigger another government shutdown “right before the midterms” to sow chaos in Washington before Election Day.

The article is from this past April but he said the same thing today on FOX Business.

He does not expect a third reconciliation bill to get through in time due to gop infighting so the dems will shut it down over the budget.

When asked about the chances for a third package he said, "Yeah, and I'd like a horse for my birthday too but that's not happening either".

I hadn't thought of this angle. But he might be right, although I'm not sure it would help the Dems.
