If women could be drafted and a real bloody global conflict started, many women would suddnely embrace traditional gender roles and get pregnant in a hurry. It would be the female version of fleeing to Canada.

Here's the thing. Women in the Combat Arms were lifted 10 years ago. You barely hear about it today.

They aren't actually rushing to get those jobs.

The thing about Selective Service is that it's a dead letter.

There was no talk about starting up a draft, even during the War on Terror.

The last time someone was indicted for failing to register was 1986. About 16% of men don't register for the draft.

So why don’t they just abolish the entire selective service?

They want equal pay for less qualified workers. Women are designed to be sexual toys for Men and baby making factories.

Yes... women should ALSO be required to register with the Selective Service.

Practically speaking, females would be relegated to support roles by default given their stereotypical physical attributes...

Which frees more men for actual combat duty, just as we saw in the 1940s...

Although, nowadays, any female desiring to join the combat arms should be given a fair chance to train and participate...

We hear a great deal of talk presently about various service branches struggling (or even failing) to meet recruiting quotas...

Perhaps it's time to dust-off the long-dormant Selective Service system and to conduct a limited draft to compensate...

The Draft might also be used to top-off any staffing deficits in Reserve and Guard units if-and-as needed...

Resurrecting the Draft would also help to "re-balance the load" for national defense so that it's not just The Poor enlisting...

Those times will return if we keep on this course. Telling and forcing everyone in the Western World different where mother nature said different is the epitome of self-destruction. The tough women rise to the top. It's the others who are shoehorned in that are not that good who take positions that men can who are better. The proof is there to see. So now there are more and more violent males. More and more males who are in gangs out of necessity. More and more males who have just given up. More and more males who get screwed with by other males who are empowered and get away with it. For some reason you as a Prog expect no more wars. No more economic downturns. No more massive disasters. You see the strong ones doing with less in those situations.

I would be all for it.

It's kind of useless.

What I wouldn't mind seeing is a form of National Service where military service is one of many options. Everyone has to do it between ages 18-20, but afterwards, they get a college scholarship or payment for a vocational school.
