If Alfie Evans were Muslim, Would the EU still be Starving Him To Death?
I think the answer is pretty clear that had Alfie been a Muslim, the courts would have stayed out of it. Further, the fact that a court would get in the way of a parent trying to save their kid and refuse to let them fly to Italy for medical treatment only goes to show America the danger of allowing a government to take control of your care.
Explain why "the answer is pretty clear that had Alfie been a Muslim, the courts would have stayed out of it"? Where do you get this statement from? It's NOT "pretty clear." Who else is dragging religion into this discussion?
Alfies case was hijacked by a catholic group called the Christian Legal Centre. They are a bog standard "pro life" anti gay" set up . Their legal representative was not actually a solicitor and did more harm than good.
A High Court judge has slammed a legal adviser to the family of sick toddler Alfie Evans, calling him a "fanatical and deluded young man".
Mr Justice Hayden hit out at law student Pavel Stroilov, who is linked to the pro-life Christian Legal Centre (CLC), at a three-hour hearing in Manchester yesterday.
He criticised Mr Stroilov's "malign hand" and told the Family Division of the High Court that some of his legal advice had come close to contempt of court.
The court heard the adviser had been party to Alfie's dad, Tom Evans, lodging a private prosecution of Alder Hey Hospital doctors, allegedly for murder.
The judge said, in fact, the Liverpool-based hospital had provided "world class" care for the little boy, who suffers from a mystery brain condition.
'Fanatic' who's urged Alfie Evans' parents to 'prosecute doctors for murder'
This is the organisation that hijcked this case. A bunch of radical religious nuts stirring up the feeble minded to turn the hospital into a war zone. Much to the distress of staff and patients, many of whom are very sick and perhaps do not need riot police parked outside their doors..
What does the Christian Legal Centre believe in?
The Christian Legal Centre (CLC) represented Alfie's parents in court yesterday.
It is a branch of Christian Concern - a religious lobbying organisation which has been vocal on a range of topics including abortion and gender identity.
The organisation says “divorce, homosexuality and transsexualism are the three most significant challenges to God’s pattern for family in today’s society.”
It has also fought against compulsory sexual education in school.
A mission statement on Christian Concern's website reads: “We have a passion to see the United Kingdom return to the Christian faith.
“Our nation has been shaped and defined by this faith for hundreds of years.
“Yet in the last few decades, the nation has largely turned her back on Jesus and embraced alternative ideas such as secular liberal humanism, moral relativism and sexual licence.
“The fruit of this can be seen in widespread family breakdown, immorality and social disintegration.”
On abortion, the website adds: “At Christian Concern we resist abortion and aim to inform women of its dangers.
"We believe that every unborn child should have their right to life protected.”
The CLC, to which Pavel Stroilov is linked, claims it handles more religious discrimination cases than any other group in the UK, the
Liverpool Echo reports.
It exists "to defend Christians in the public sphere and to protect the freedom of Christians to live their lives in accordance with their Christian beliefs.”
