In the novel Magister Ludi, the Go master says "Life is a simplified paradigm of Go."

Great quote, it's an exaggeration, of course, but the patterns you see in the game you keep seeing in life. It is genuinely hard, When I was learning to play, I said my brain was melting and running out of my ears.

I've played tournament chess, this is much harder.

Few are up to handling this much of an intellectual challenge.

But there aren't many games that give you new ways to understand the world.

You really need a person to teach you the basics, most cities will have a Go club, but there is free software that will let you play.

Sjeng - chess, audio and misc. software

That's nice and all but can you call-up and kill a Spring gobbler?
Or sit patiently in a blind in sub zero weather for hours waiting on a Buck that may not even show because he may or may not be onto you?

Lee Se-dol just got whipped by AI at Go .
A similar moment to Deep Blue beating Kasparov at Chess in 1997 .

The implications for our species are immense .

We need to develop drugs that increase our brain's computing speed in order to keep within sight of the machines .

I have developed a tasty blender concoction which is keeping me ahead ----- details only to be released to the highest bidder when I officially retire .
