I would love to hear the tape. Wouldn't you?

Trump's people will protect Trump's people, or else. Nothing authoritarian about that!

And anyway, Biden was much worse! He was a dictator sent by Satan!

How is it liberals are so open to say stuff that sounds cool while none of it ever materializes?

If we assume its true Trump should fire him. Irony is the left chose not to procecute and in fact, tried to set Trump up.

Tom Homan was investigated for accepting $50,000 from undercover FBI agents. Trump's DOJ shut it down.

In an undercover operation last year, the FBI recorded Tom Homan, now the White House border czar, accepting $50,000 in cash after indicating he could help the agents — who were posing as business executives — win government contracts in a second Trump administration, according to multiple people familiar with the probe and internal documents reviewed by MSNBC.

The FBI and the Justice Department planned to wait to see whether Homan would deliver on his alleged promise once he became the nation’s top immigration official. But the case indefinitely stalled soon after Donald Trump became president again in January, according to six sources familiar with the matter. In recent weeks, Trump appointees officially closed the investigation, after FBI Director Kash Patel requested a status update on the case, two of the people said.

The rationale the trump government has used to tuck the investigation in to a drawer is it was "politically motivated." a Trump Justice Department appointee called the case a “deep state” probe in early 2025.

But Homan was not the original target in the probe.

The federal investigation was launched in western Texas in the summer of 2024 after a subject in a separate investigation claimed Homan was soliciting payments in exchange for awarding contracts should Trump win the presidential election, according to an internal Justice Department summary of the probe reviewed by MSNBC and people familiar with the case.

I can't put my finger on why, but Homan accepting a bag of cash fits him like a glove. Something about him gives off a mob boss sensibility.

Anyway, during the 2024 campaign Homan made no secret of the power he would have if trump was re-elected. Homan, who served as acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement early in Trump’s first term, openly claimed during the 2024 campaign that he would play a prominent role in carrying out Trump’s promised mass deportations. Making the acceptance of bribes all the more believable.

This incident, and the subsequent coverup, rounds out the portfolio of corruption in trump 2.0.
You can be sure Jim Jordan and James Comer are all over this and will be holding several hearings to get to the bottom of this wide open corruption...

Oh wait...

.

Have we ever had a more corrupt President than Trump?

Of course we haven't. Trump makes it easy, everyone working for him passed the loyalty test, therefore they won't be investigated for corruption, and everyone is green lighted to act like he does.
Probably, but in the olden days it was much easier, and harder to figure it out. Kennedy was helped by the mob to get into power. It wasn't uncommon. But since Nixon left office, Trump is probably the most corrupt.

Quite a lot of the predictions about trump 2.0 have come true. In many respects it's been worse than many of us thought it could possibly be.

For example, I would never have guessed the orange piece of shit would be so overt about his corruption of the DoJ.

Yeah, a lot worse for the left.

No kidding, the corruption of Crossfire Hurricane was very covert.

If this was true, why didn't Sleepy Joe release it for the public before the election when it mattered?

Again, just another liberal lie

Um...dipshit? The FBI was waiting to see if Homan carried through on his promise, and that meant waiting until after Homan was put into power.

So it would be pretty stupid for the FBI to tell the world about it beforehand, right, genius?

Do you think Trump got the $50,000 bribe back Homan accepted?

Now let's see the list of Democrats that the FBI tried to bribe, during Trump's first term, who were going to be involved in the Biden administration.

Where's the tape?

Let me guess, right next to the Trump pee tape in Adam Schiff's safe, right?

Sucker.

Lets carry your fairytale to the last page

Why let the cat out of the bag now?

Did Homan stiff you?

Sure. Feel free to show us.

Homan wasn't even the original target of the FBI investigation. So nice try.

Don't you want to know why no one in the Trump administration is asking what Homan did with that bag of cash? Shouldn't he return it? I would think DOGE would be all over that.

Homan has denied he broke the law. But I haven't heard him deny he took the money. Thanks to the SC maybe there's some ambiguity about the legality of Tom taking a bribe.

No One Is Sure If It’s Illegal to Accept a $50,000 Bribe Stuffed In a Cava Bag, Thanks to the Supreme Court

The existence of non-criminal reasons for accepting $50,000 in a pita pocket probably comes as a surprise to most normal people. But the Supreme Court is famously fond of bribery, and has made it increasingly difficult to successfully prosecute public corruption. In doing so, the Court has made it increasingly easy for people like Homan to take their alleged bribes to-go.

Since 2016, the Court has overturned federal public corruption convictions at least three times. First, the Court came to the aid of former Virginia governor Bob McDonnell, who accepted over $175,000 in gifts and loans from a pharmaceutical company in exchange for hooking the business up with free product testing at the state’s public universities. Taking “official action” in exchange for money (or anything else of value) is a felony under federal bribery statutes. But in McDonnell v. United States, the Court said there was no official action here, recasting the phone calls McConnell placed and meetings he organized on the company’s behalf as innocent constituent services. “Setting up a meeting, calling another public official, or hosting an event does not, standing alone, qualify as an official act,” wrote Chief Justice John Roberts for the unanimous Court.

Next, in 2020, the Court helped out the two former aides to New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie who masterminded “Bridgegate.” The busiest bridge in the world runs between Manhattan and Fort Lee, New Jersey, and the mayor of Fort Lee did not endorse Christie’s reelection campaign. So, without warning, the aides reduced the bridge’s three lanes to just one, creating a spite-fueled traffic nightmare. In an attempt to cover up their retaliatory scheme, the aides pretended they were conducting a traffic study and directed Port Authority engineers to collect pointless data.

Defrauding federally funded organizations, like the Port Authority, is a federal crime. But in Kelly v. United States, the Court again unanimously reversed the aides’ convictions. Because the “object of the fraud” was not money or property, Justice Elena Kagan wrote, this wasn’t a crime, it was just a dick move.

Exactly. Not only will House Repubs not be looking in to why the investigation was dropped by the blonde sock puppet known as Pam (as if we don't already know), the story has fallen off the radar. Replaced by the government shutdown, troops being sent to Portland and Chicago, and the orange piece of shit's plan to put himself in charge of the board making decisions about the future of Gaza.

If they really had a "strong case" , they had all the way to noon on 20 January 2025 to bring it up without the adults being in the room.
They were waiting until he acted corruptly as the deportation czar before making an arrest.

Where's the $50K?
