The definition (in a political context) is favoring free enterprise, private ownership, and socially traditional ideas.

IMHO it waxes more like middle of the road (small L) Libertarianism.

If all of our politics is on a political spectrum, I’m not sure where a line is drawn between being on the “right” vs being on the “far right.” I see many people (most particularly liberals) use a wide range of definitions to describe almost anybody on the right. Without a common definition, the discussion becomes kind of meaningless.

None of those are on the right side of the European political spectrum. It's generally illustrated as a horseshoe, with the far left being communism and the far right being national socialism, which are more similar to each other than the center. Hence, the horseshoe model.

Constitutional conservatism was never "the right" on that political spectrum. People just started saying that because it was the opposing political theory to the left in this country. Whereas the left in this country is very much aligned with the left in the European political spectrum (it was directly influenced by European leftists). It's just something people started saying and it stuck.

But you're right about anarcho-capitalism being about the farthest in opposition to the left ideologically. It's just if we're speaking academically, it's not actually considered "the right."

I have to agree with this.

One thing my father always taught me from a young age, is to always think for myself. We agreed on most things, but not all. And, it would always upset me if we had a disagreement.

But, he would always tell me in those times............"son if you agreed with everything I said, I would wonder if you were listening".

No two people will ever agree on everything, if they are being honest.
