...WIND CHILL ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM CST TUESDAY...

FRIGID TEMPERATURES FALLING THROUGH THE SINGLE DIGITS THIS
AFTERNOON WILL COMBINE WITH GUSTY WEST WINDS OF 20 TO 35 MPH TO
PRODUCE DANGEROUSLY COLD WIND CHILL READINGS AROUND 20 BELOW ZERO.

AIR TEMPERATURES WILL DROP BELOW ZERO AFTER SUNSET THIS
EVENING...WITH WIND CHILLS FALLING TO 20 TO 25 BELOW OVERNIGHT.
DAYTIME AIR TEMPERATURES OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS WILL ONLY RECOVER
TO ABOVE ZERO VALUES...WHILE WINDS DIMINISH TO 10 TO 15 MPH.
HOWEVER...CONTINUED SUBZERO NIGHTTIME LOWS...COMBINED WITH EVEN
THESE LIGHTER WINDS...WILL RETURN OVERNIGHT WIND CHILLS TO 25 TO
30 BELOW NORTH OF INTERSTATE 80...AND TO 20 TO 25 BELOW SOUTH OF
THERE. A SLIGHT WARM UP WILL BEGIN ON TUESDAY...ALLOWING WIND
CHILLS TO FINALLY RISE ABOVE 20 BELOW ZERO. HOWEVER...NIGHTTIME
LOWS ARE STILL FORECAST IN THE SINGLE DIGITS THROUGH FRIDAY.

A WIND CHILL ADVISORY MEANS THAT VERY COLD AIR AND STRONG WINDS
WILL COMBINE TO GENERATE WIND CHILLS AT OR LESS THEN 20 BELOW
ZERO. THIS WILL RESULT IN FROST BITE AND LEAD TO HYPOTHERMIA IF
PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN. IF YOU MUST VENTURE OUTDOORS...DRESS IN
LAYERS AND COVER ALL SKIN. MAKE SURE YOU WEAR A HAT AND GLOVES.
LIMIT OUTDOOR ACTIVITY TO MINIMIZE EXPOSURE...AS FROSTBITE CAN
OCCUR IN 30 MINUTES OR LESS.

PETS ARE ALSO SUSCEPTIBLE TO THE EXTREME COLD AS MUCH AS YOU ARE.
KEEP PETS INDOORS AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. IF THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE...
MAKE SURE OUTDOOR PETS HAVE WARM DRY SHELTER. PROVIDE SUFFICIENT
FOOD AND FRESH UNFROZEN WATER.

CHECK ON ELDERLY FAMILY MEMBERS AND NEIGHBORS. IF YOU NEED
ASSISTANCE IN THE CITY OF CHICAGO...CALL 3 1 1.

I feel your pain.

It's a whole 7 degrees outside. I wanted snow, but this is way overboard.

On Monday our actual low temp is supposed to be -4 YUCK.

Here too, at night anyways. It sucks. I like snow days, but below 0? No way.

They have yet to call snow days because of the cold. They're just keeping the kids inside.

Mine now have too much pent up energy and are driving me crazy.

LOL! Our school too. You should have to corral 25-30 of them. Egads!

Scary!!!!!!!!!

Guess I'll stop complaining about my 4 then.

I played sorry with them today. That game is awful it ends up being boys against girls (mainly them against my daughter), thought I was gonna have a fist fight on my hands. We switched to dominoes.

I've given up now and they're watching TV.

I do feel your pain. I remember those days. If memory serves, baking cookies or cupcakes helped. They also liked 'helping' with dinner. Baths too! LOL, I remember once starting baths at 2pm, then doing again after dinner.

To funny!! Already did the bath thing. Great minds think alike!!!

Wouldn't be so bad except the husband is in Florida. I console myself with the fact that it's only in the 60s and raining. Does that make me a bad wife?

I don't blame you for the sign! But a condo would be nice next year at this time? So I guess you can forgive him.

Not a bad idea!!

Gotta go shuffle the kids off to bed, maybe they'll sleep in tomorrow (hey I can dream right!).
Trigg, it's not 7 pm yet! If they sleep 12 hours! I do remember that!

Well CST it's 6:41. I do remember putting the kids to bed about now, once when they were all under 5. They woke up at like 4 am though! :eusa_hand:

Was not a pretty sight! :eusa_wall: I've always gotten up early, to be ALONE! LOL!

LOL!!

It's just shy of 8pm here. I'll give them another 1/2 hour and then...to bed they go. By the time I get done reading them books, getting last minute drinks and tucking everyone in it'll be 9.

Then I get quiet time
