How worried are R's about the ACA premium hike backlash? This worried.

What is it about the term "decline to confirm" do TDS lefties fail to understand? Their sources add it to cover their asses but the low educated TDS crowd is so desperate for bad news that they disregard it.

Supply chain worker wage increases do no5 increase costs, nor do labor increases.

Yes, it can be a winning issue for the Democrats. The problem with Democrats promising "lower prices," is that they never mean the price actually lowers. What they mean is that the government subsidizes prices, making the amount the consumer pays at point of sail lower.

Of course, consumers love that, but we have to understand where the money comes from. The overwhelming majority of taxes collected to go servicing the debt and paying for non-discretionary spending. Spending on something like the ACA subsidies comes entirely from borrowed or printed money.

An awesome plan if we assume the world ends in a relatively short and predictable time, like say twenty years from now. Since it almost certainly won't, we are just forcing our grandchildren into massive debt while devaluing their dollars in the process, so that we can be more comfortable financially in this moment in time.
I'm not sure how the government subsidizes prices?
The only subsidies I know of are SNAP & WIC to help the low income folks.

I do agree that we need to keep cutting spending and lower the Debt before its too late and the dollar collapses.
My recommendations are:
raise the top tax rate to 40%, where it was under Reagan.
fix SS (remove the cap)
No refund of tariff income, put it on the $38T debt.
fix Medicare.
end the capital gains tax loophole
cut defense spending
send welfare back to the states in phases

That should get a sizable surplus to start paying down the Debt.

White House to pitch a Trump Obamacare extension with limits

The White House expects to soon unveil a health policy framework that includes a two-year extension of Obamacare subsidies due to expire at the end of next month and new limits on eligibility, according to three people granted anonymity to discuss the unannounced plans.

The proposal would mark President Donald Trump’s foray into Capitol Hill negotiations over how to address health care premium spikes set to hit Affordable Care Act enrollees if Congress lets the premium subsidies expire.

A White House official declined to confirm the details of the plan, saying, “Until President Trump makes an announcement himself, any reporting about the administration’s healthcare positions is mere speculation.” MS NOW first reported news of Trump’s intent to announce a new health care framework as soon as Monday to address spikes in ACA insurance premiums.

As part of a deal to reopen the government earlier this month, Senate Republicans agreed to give Democrats a vote on the ACA tax credits in December. But GOP lawmakers across the Capitol have been divided over how to respond to the subsidy deadline, leaving many eager for Trump to reveal his preferences. Hard-line conservatives have been pushing to let the subsidies expire while moderate Republicans have been pressing for an extension. Some Republicans are angling for a health care overhaul to replace the credits.

Don is nothing if not unpredictable so you never know what he will or won't do until he does it. But I think it's fair to say that while many on the board were doing a happy dance over the idea of R's "winning" the shutdown, meaning unaffordable healthcare for millions, R congressmen were not as sanguine. With everything else that's going against R's heading towards the midterms it would appear defending the position of "people on ACA plans can go screw themselves" is one they'd rather not be put in a position of having to do.

Notice how the potentially proposed two year extension gets them past the election?

Dimwingers did that.

Compared to a creep just dressing up to get into the ladies room.

Trump doesn't have a problem with Caitlyn Jenner using any bathroom they want.
Probably not.

Here's the thing about real trannies vs. creeps. Real trannies have been using the women's bathrooms for decades with no particular problems, or rare problems. Creeps gonna creep, but . . . there is no line drawn, not legally.

A staffer sees an obvious male making no attempt to look female, close cropped hair with male pattern baldness, male gym shorts, regular t-shirt, or muscle shirt, can he be confident in keeping that male out? Even if he just saw four girls aged ten to twelve go in with bathing suits in their hands, any logical move he makes could be met with a lawsuit.

If the exact same man grows his hair out, puts on lipstic and pink leggings, a staffer concerned only about litigation would keep his mouth shut and pretend to see nothing. Hell William Thomas did not have to even do all that. He grew his hair out, called himself Lia, and he was allowed to undress in a room ful of college-aged women also undressing.

Nearly every public place now has family bathrooms where multiple people of any sex can enter as long as they are together. Teh law should state that this is where transgender should go if they are not comfortable in the bathooms set aside for their sex.

But that is far too reasonable for the left. Their aim is not to protect "rights" of transgenders. Their aim is to exercise and demonstrate power over us by legally forcing us to do something as foolish as letting a large male undress in a room full of women and girls undressing. By gettting that through, they humiliated the American male population by exposing our weakness.
Shame on us for letting them do it.

YES, Think you will notice that Many things are set up in just this way.

The most I ever paid on the A.C.A was $5.00 a n=month. People are now paying $450.00 month. ReNaziKlans want Americans to die.

Just like everything he does. Like his vanity trade wars. Like tearing up trade agreements and signing worse ones after. Like his ballroom fiasco. Like scrambling to make deals with the Taliban.
And now, after calling Mamdani the worst things, did you see him gushing over him at the White House? How are Trump's supporters not pissed off at him telling him lies all the time? Or confused. But they'll just spin it however they want.

Groceries up 3% from last November. Boy, Trump's doing a heck of a job huh?

You know, I truly believe Trump can be convinced to stop playing the left and right against each other and for his legacy, he will do better by being a good guy who does something about healthcare finally, or does bring up blue collar wages. Trump has no conviction. If he's in a room with a socialist, he can be convinced into socialism. Look at how in his first term he quickly said he would take guns away first and due process 2nd. He's clearly not a real conservative. He's only playing one.

What Trump is, is a swamp creature who has taken control of the swamp. And all these MAGA tadpoles who think Trump won't eat them is sadly mistaken.

Eventually, we'll get it right. But remember, Trump has no problem with Caitlyn Jenner using any bathroom SHE wants.

Eventually, women will stop being stalked by creeps in the ladies bathroom and changing room, and girls will stop losing scholorships and other sports opportunities to dudes?

How many centuries in "eventually?
But remember, Trump has no problem with Caitlyn Jenner using any bathroom SHE wants.
I disagree with Trump being fine with him using the women's bathroom. Still, Jenner could fall under the category of "real trannie" that no one would even notice going into the ladies room, if not for his celebraty while still admitting he is was a male.

I don't have to agree with everything Trump says and does. It's not a Cancel Culure Cult like the Democats run. "But Trump says," is never going to be a good argument with me.

Thanksgiving food far lower than last year.

Yes, Trump is doing a great job.

Anyway, this thread deserves to stay on topic.

Trump has proposed a reasonable solution that does not have working class people paying for the healthcare of wealthy entrepreneurs, artists, and trustfund babies.

I'd prefer that the temporary subsidies be allowed to die altogother and that Congress take a serious look at why the regular subsidies are pumping so much money into the coffers of health insurance providers.

But the voters are caught up in the Democrats' hype so it is good politics to come up with a compromise, so the Dems don't have this issue next November.

Women aren't being stalked in bathrooms.

Girls aren't losing scholarships to dudes anymore.

You agree with me. A real tranny should be able to use the ladies room.

Consider this. Women don't pee in urinals side by side with other women. They go into their own stalls. So a guy dressed as a girl whos there to peep is going to be spotted easy.

With enhanced Obamacare tax credits set to expire at the end of the year, Republicans are proposing new alternatives aimed at lowering the cost of health care.

Their window for doing so is rapidly closing — and leaving middle-class Americans uncertain in the balance.

The White House is expected to make an announcement this week addressing efforts to either renew or replace the Affordable Care Act enhanced premium tax credits, according to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. However, MS Now on Monday reported an announcement has been delayed in part due to congressional backlash, according to two White House officials.

Cuz they are scared shitless of facing the voters after their intransigence on premium relief.

What pisses me off is Trump will get credit for putting things back the way they were before he broke them.

Trump caused inflation. If inflation comes down, it's still his inflation that he caused.

Trump starts a trade war with China. China cuts us off on rare earth minerals. Trump shits his pants and has to fly to China to undo the mess he created. And then Republicans on USMB will say Trump won the trade war with China.

Don't forget Trump "won" the trade war he started with China in his first term. He also re negotiated NAFTA in his first term. Biden didn't undo what Trump did. So these trade agreements that Republicans don't like? Those are Trump's agreements.

Yes, they are. If it has slowed down, it will start up again if your party or "not your party" ever gets power again.

If he looked like the picture on the left and I din't know anything about Bruce Jenner, I wouldn't look closely enough at him going to the ladies room to know he was male.

If I met him in person, of course I would pick up on it right away.
You agree with me. A real tranny should be able to use the ladies room.
Not that they "should be able to" because I think they should be required to use the family bathroom. My statement is that they did use the women's bathrooms unnoticed. The problem started when someone like william Thomas demanded the right to watch women undress and to take their sports opportunities merely because he was willing to put on a girl's bathing suit.
Consider this. Women don't pee in urinals side by side with other women. They go into their own stalls. So a guy dressed as a girl whos there to peep is going to be spotted easy.
Women undress in full view in front of each other in locker rooms, especially girls on swim teams. When I was in high school, I would have loved to have a front row seat, but I would have gotten my ass kicked every time I tried it.

That is the missing element now.

The issue isn’t whether Republicans are worried or not – the problem is that Republicans don’t care about millions of Americans losing access to affordable healthcare.

Such is the reprehensible right.
Right. Republicans don't care about millions of us losing access to affordable healthcare but they care oh so much about 1 or 2 women who had to complete against a tranny.
