How many of you exercise regularly

How many of us at USMB regularly workout?

Running, weight training, distance walking, swimming, tree climbing?

I have steadily since HS, in the military, at uni, and in the private and public gyms.

We all know that it is good for us.

Tell us what you do.

I walk between 3-5 miles per day. Also do some basic arm weights

More the reason to do what you can to keep going.
I haven't walked in a month because of rain and heat, " excuses".
I feel like I aged 20 years from not walking.
I do dance and take care of house, mopping wood floors since I don't like carpet, cleaning ,cooking.
Plus I lift weights for diabetes. Never took meds for it use diet and exercise, but it is not easy.
Id I want a small piece of cake it cost me 10 minutes od warming up lifting. At times I almost cry ,don't feel like working out,but I want that piece of cake or other carbs.
The secret is to walk right as the sun comes up, when its the most coolest outside. I refuse to walk in the heat in the afternoon, as its in the 90's with 90% humidity. I did this today and got back before the heat became miserable.

At 60 my job in construction gives me a ton of exercise that has kept me in much better shape that my office working peers.
I probably do the equivalent of 50 flights of stairs carrying materials up and down and climbing ladders or roof trusses to get measurements and install.

No need to pay for a gym.

I bet you are rock solid.

How is your fleixibility and agility.

I have trouble with mine and have to flex exercise daily or hobble.

I am fine until I stop.
Then I feel those aching joints and stiffness.
Once I get moving again, it's forgotten.
I get the sore back, sometimes my knees or ankles give me grief.
Still will water or snow ski, ride my bike occasionally and give the dog walks also.

But two friends with health and weight issues have already passed. They didn't have an active lifestyle at all.

Just have to keep those body parts moving I guess. Getting old sucks when my mentality is far younger.

Papagregario, generally, where did you move?

I served a training course at Ft Lewis and remained more than in the southeast.

Did not like it.
Did not like Ft. Lewis (Western Washington state, between Tacoma and Olympia, FYI to readers here) or the southeast.
I've noticed that many who have served at Lewis, or McChord, and chose to return and live in the area once out of the service.

I moved to Las Vegas, I hated the dark dreary rainy Seattle, Portland area, cloudy and rainy especially in the fall through spring. Loved the Spokane area and even the winters, it was a beautiful area to live, but the last couple of winters got to be tough for me We moved to the Las Vegas area, I have adapted well to the heat, I walk early mornings, it’s not humid, and it is almost always sunny. The companies I worked for did a lot of work for JBLM. When it is sunny in Seattle and Portland, they are beautiful but the days are too few and far between.

I have one of my homes about 80 miles from LV, just in the UT, AZ, NV triangle.

Love it up here. Hotter than hades in the summer. But I can deal with it.

I lived in So. Ca. for 41 years, moved to the CDA area of Idaho.
I like having the 4 seasons and the politics.
We loved going to see all the bald eagles at Lake Couer d’Alene, I also loved going up to Lake Pend Oreille and staying there, just beautiful in the Spokane area, and going west the sudden shift landscape. I miss it but my health is better in a drier climate.

Yup, when the Kokanee are making their spawn push, it's a mecca for the bald eagles.
I do a lot of fishing in the 3 big lakes.

I agree, I like going out and visiting all the National Parks, Bryce, Zion, Grand Canyon, Death Valley, Hoover, then there is Red Rock, Lake Mead, Valley of Fire, Goblin Valley. There is a national park called Capital Reef that I just heard about and might travel there. The main thing to remember everywhere you go is water, water and more water.

After 4 pages, bodybuilders still have no idea of what drives them.

Somebody should look it up and make this topic worthwhile.

Science doesn't tell a comforting story for them!

I have l earned about others and commonality with where other posters lived and where they are now. It’s obvious from your shallow statement you have no idea about what the thread, you claim to not care about evolved into. Why are you such a bitter, angry asshole?

I only know the science on what drives them. It's not the same with all of them. There are 3 or 4 main motivating factors.

The one who does the most braying and posts the ego photo, is easily identified.

It's not for me to have to open the can of worms on mental health issues. Somebody else can do it. I can provide some links if asked. Otherwise, maybe just let it go? We'll see?

See you have no clue as to what the thread has morphed into, you are just another Canadian that believes themselves to be above Americans, I agree you are so much better than anyone else, now let us continue to enjoy our exchanges, asshole.

I started it because I was interested in what others did for exercise: only that.

Donald H and Bralian made it about what they thought it meant about others.

Why?
