Yes, but taking people from one place to another beyond the useful range of the average EV is a real pain in the ass compared to internal combustion engines.

It is rare that someone would need to drive further than the range of their EV.

lots of cars don’t qualify. BMW sells a lot of EVs and there’s no credit.

Here's what you guys don't get. When the first VW's hit the US market, they were the cheaper cars young people bought because they could afford them and not big gas guzzling American cars. Same with Japanese brands. This created brand loyalty. So when they were more affluent and could afford a nicer car, they went to a more expensive model in that brand.
