How Bernie is wrong about economics and "social issues"

So I was watching a Bernie interview and the subject of women's rights came up from Donald's position that women having an abortion should be punished and Bernie made a comment about it being, and I'm paraphrasing, distracting. So I go to look up his position on women's rights and I find this Rolling Stone interview:

Weekend With Bernie

Sanders believes that by keeping his focus on economic populism, he has a shot — a long one, he admits — at beating the historical odds. "Once you get off of the social issues — abortion, gay rights, guns — and into the economic issues," he says, "there is a lot more agreement than the pundits understand."

His legislative history is actually far to the right of Hillary Clinton's when it comes to guns.

For one thing, gay rights are very important if you are a gay or a right winger. Gays want protection and civil liberties. Right wingers want gays dead.
Why Is the Media Ignoring Ted Cruz's Embrace of 'Kill the Gays' Pastor?

Women's rights are very important. To think that a woman's choice could, under the Republicans, be forced to be between having an unwanted child or a 1st degree murder charge is just awful.
And don't get me started on guns. Of course I believe people have the right to own a gun, but not crazies and not felons and not a 4 year old.

And look at his economic policies. The link from his site is above. Sure, we want new bridges. We want modern rails and airports. We want good roads. But where are the jobs that will pay for all that stuff. You can't build a railway unless there are people who ride it or goods that are carried on it. What are the goods and where are they coming from. Find that info on Bernie's site -- if you can.

Bernie is so much like a Republican. Or like an empty pinata. There is no candy inside. Just a vague word salad like "do good" and "make better". That's all Republicans have run on for years. We don't need Democrats to do the same exact thing.

Bernie would not have been accepted by Alinsky......too obvious.

Good thing Bernie has not one supporter right? I never imagined a confirmed socialist could garner 100 votes rather than millions. Its good for the country. He can't win an election but I believe his influence is healthy for the country.

How?

Sanders has completely lied to his base. There are no jobs coming back from China. The companies in China are building a million robots to replace millions of workers making $172 a month. Free college would bankrupt the middle class here and you would have endless art degrees taking money away from engineering and science. He has no policies beyond some kind of vague revolution. He is living in the 60's. How these people can't see the damage his strange policies would cause I'll never understand. It's like they are buying a lemon from a used car salesmen and are blinded by the sparkle from the chrome.

How would a .5% tax on stock transaction "bankrupt" the middle class?

You think that would raise enough money to make colleges free?

Where do you think public unions the Democratic party cash cow have their retirement money invested...hence there will be no tax on this.

Only about 7% of all workers in the US belong to unions. I bet there are more unemployed Republicans or Republicans making minimum wage or Republicans on food stamps than all the members of every union put together.

This has been discussed at length in another thread. A stock transaction tax isn't a significant detriment to long-term investors.

Good grief people we don't need anymore damn tax increases for fucks sake. It shouldn't take 50% of every dollar earned to govern a damn country.

You can talk about Bernie all you want--but it is mathematically impossible for him to win the Nomination at this point in time. Right now, even after winning Wisconsin, he would have to win 3 out of 4 delegates in all the remaining states. That means he would have to win them BIG, not just by a few points here and there.

Again, he was hanging out at a college campus in Wyoming tonight to give his victory speech on Wisconsin, and again it's another caucus state that typically produces less than 1% participation of voters that will put up with the pain of a 3 hour meeting to cast a vote. He'll probably win Wyoming giving him another handful of delegates, but not enough to put a dent into her lead. Typically the underdogs win these. Had all of the caucus states he has won, been primary states, Hillary Clinton would have wiped them clean, and Sanders would be a distant memory right now.

We're headed into large CLOSED primaries where he has been getting clobbered. New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut--where Hillary Clinton is leading by 30+ points. In June another BIG Presidential closed primary in California. Hillary Clinton to date has a 2+ million popular vote lead. Meaning that the Democrat Super Delegates, all 580 are not going to move over for Bernie Sanders. They are going to continue to support the Democrat in this race, & not someone who just changed his party status to run on the Democrat ticket.

So that's the Bernie Sander's challenge, and it's definitely NOT something that Las Vegas would give odds on.
Bernie Sanders’s path to the nomination is getting very narrow
It’s Really Hard To Get Bernie Sanders 988 More Delegates
