The Constitution can still be regarded a, "Law and Order" document--despite the Trumped-Up brand. Finally, even Senator McConnell has commenced putting a brake on claiming extra-legal, and extraterrestrial--policies and agenda of the Trumped-Up co-conspiratorial brand. Pre-trial document number one has been timely filed.

The "Timely filed" part even Senator Rand finds difficult to see(?). The Impeachment Article was brought, per requirement, during the required term of the office. No one Trumped-Up could claim that the office term had ended.

Then everything else is evidence. There is even a suggestion that the evidence itself can be stipulated(?)!

Back to Northwest Georgia the Trumped-Up seem to want to go(?)!

"Crow, James Crow: Shaken, Not Stirred!"
(Deut 23: 19-30 pretends Pharaoh's likely alliance arithmetic to be divinely created(?), and so applied. Jesus ben Joseph, Son of Mary, Often called in English, "Oh Christ!" would explain what that was up with that in Matt 25: 14-30. Lives don't matter, and so get thrown clear out of the program, left to "Weeping and Gnashing of Teeth!" The basis is ability or not to keep up with on-going arithmetic--never stopping(?), in the back-drop of Matt 20:1-16--putting on the brakes!)

Repubs are going to be in a position that to agree with guilt will produce a backlash from voters and a vote for negative will bring a backlash from supporters in the corporate world which seek to distance themselves from the acts of Jan. 6th.

Kabuki theater...exactly.

Its all Kabuki theater. They could vote now and save a lot of fake drama.
They have to give the defense time to prepare.

no they don't it's a political trial they can do whatever they want
It is a political question which requires an answer and there is always a time period to prepare for the answer.

They could flip a coin there is no higher authority, they can decide in whatever time frame the senate feels appropriate assuming teh constiution doesn't specifically set time frames. Which as far as i'm aware it does not on the issue of impeachment

This is a settled question we have precedent. Purely political question, there is no due process

Only real question is can they try him while he's out of office, not sure SCOTUS will get involved anyway tho because of previous precedent

Message board, "Kabuki Theater," posters rejecting the GOP contention of a January Exception to Constitutional Law and Order!

All they need to do is stand by their professed beliefs and exhibit some courage and leadership for once in their miserable lives.

The Founders claimed that one can be held responsible for bad behavior on the last day just as the first day.

Either way, they don't need to give anyone time if they don't want to

They are being pressured by the mob.

Yet, they do so that is the way it is.

Trump cannot roll back the clock, simply by firing his defense team. Time to proceed.

He has until the 9th when he is to be in court for trial. He can elect not to be present which is what he will probably do.

There are back and forth motions before that.
