I haven't speculated one bit. The secret Service purposely waited for the perp to shoot. They shot him mere seconds afterwards. Thus, he was already in their sights, they were waiting.

The witness who was yelling at the cops and secret Service for three minutes would have triggered a red alert that would have seen Trump taken to the ground.

But no. None of the normal protocols were followed. The secret Service attending to Trump close up did a good job. Those who were tasked with the long range protection didn't do their jobs at all.
