And that was when they scrambled it together at the 11th hour. No other issue touched him. Only made him more popular. This one shrunk his lead to almost single digits, literally over night. If absentee evangelist and other common sense groups ballots had been cast after the ads went out, Trump's numbers would've been even lower.

I think before the ads ran, even after all the other typical teflon Trump-gaffs, his lead was around 15 points. After the ads, it shrunk down to 5 points in polling; but since absentee ballots were already in, the bump went back up. Won't be the same next time. Effectively, the gay marriage/Kim Davis issue shaved 10 points off the Trump lead for the first time on any issue ever.

The other ad, from the same group, highlights a questioner at a Trump event, who identifies herself as lesbian and asking if under a Trump presidency there would be "more forward motion on equality for gays and lesbians." Trump says in response, "Well, you can, and look that's your thing and other people have their thing. We have to bring all people together."...The announcer says, "Stop! What does she mean by forward motion? What's he agreeing to? It's not about tolerance anymore. It's about mandatory celebration. It's about forcing people to bake cakes and forcing people to photograph gay weddings. Forcing clergy to officiate. It's about transgender bathrooms in your child's school. It's about tearing down our Judeo-Christian values. It's about tearing down our America. "

This topic will cut into even Hillary's supporters. From faith to factory workers, all agree: children should have both a mother and father; and Kim Davis should not have been jailed.

Congratulations candidates, you finally found Trump's weak scale. If you polish up the ads and release them earlier this time; well in advance of absentee voting, Trump will get taken to the woodshed on Super Tuesday..

This was not the ads, but it was Cruz figuring out at the 11th hour what topic would take pounds off of Trump's lead:

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz on Thursday told a group of Evangelical Christians in South Carolina that his top two rivals for the GOP presidential nomination have the same position on same-sex marriage as President Barack Obama....Cruz spoke at the Carolina Values Summit, where he called last year's Supreme Court decision legalizing same-sex marriage "lawless" and "judicial activism," Cruz: Trump, Rubio Agree With Obama on Gay Marriage

He didn't even mention Kim Davis so far as I know. Or motherless/fatherless kids. Two EXTREMELY visceral issues for voters.

You don't support Trump or Cruz? Who do you support?

You don't support Trump or Cruz? Who do you support?

Like most of the Trumpsters (except I know his personality issues to be frightening as POTUS; where they do not), I support the candidate who will pressure Obergefell to be reheard with children having separate representation for their unique rights to the marriage contract. They were not allowed or were not present at the Obergefell Hearing. All parties to a proposed contract revision must have representation at that revision table.

Any candidate who promises that vocally and loudly, will have my vote; and the vote of the Trumpsters too when they figure out their guru wants to bury the issue and considered the several gay weddings he attended "beautiful"..

Homophobia is still a big thing in the south.

Why are they always the backwards states?

Homophobia is still a big thing in the south.

Why are they always the backwards states?

1. Wanting kids to have both a mother and father and

2. Wanting Christians to not be jailed

are not "homophobia". Moreover, there is bleedover of the visceral issues around those points all the way from the far right clear into the working class/ moderate Hillary supporters who grew up attending church and having a father and mother. Anyone who had contact with a father and mother growing up will viscerally support this issue.

Gawd...and then there's this: (this is what happens GOP when you take strategic advice from the Cheney/Rove machine...Cheney with the lesbian daughter who has a stake in the game that's dividing the evangelical vote...)

Rich Beeson, a deputy campaign manager for Sen. Marco Rubio, is causing a bit of a stir among the conservative evangelical crowd after reports surfaced he signed a petition pressing the U.S. Supreme Court to side with the pro-“gay” marriage plaintiffs in the landmark case Obergefell v. Hodges....Rubio didn’t sign the brief, which staffers with other Republican presidential campaigns, both past and present, have also signed. But Rubio, according to LifeSite News, has other ties to homosexual activists that, when combined with his campaign staffer’s signature, could prove problematic for the public-relations image he’s worked to create as a supporter of traditional marriage. ‘Gay’-marriage skeletons pop out of Rubio, Cruz closets

Single parent homes have the hope of a mother and father. Gay marriage homes eradicate that hope forever. Marriage is a contract that doesn't involve singles. And the contractual terms which children enjoyed for over a thousand years were changed to their immediate demise; for life...

...and...worst of all...they had NO SAY in the Hearing to change the contractual terms. They had no representation there for their stake in their unique enjoyment of the marriage contract at Obergefell..

Sure, there are all types of objections to gay marriage. They run the gamut. Thanks for pointing that out.

The widest shared objection however is that it strips children of either a mother or father for life. That is something that single parenthood or even divorce does not dare to do. Singles can marry. Divorce courts bend over backwards to assure children have contact with both mother and father.

Gay marriage legally strips children even of the hope of ever having a mother or father...as a binding contract...and prison....for life...

Imagine a three generation "gay married' family. Where's grandma? Where's grandpa? Imagine a child never knowing a father or grandfather...a mother or grandmother? This visceral issue will resonate with anyone, regardless of secular or religion, who had a mother and father..

Do the math..

Other then your imagination, what proof do you have that these anti-gay marriage ads had any effect on Trump's campaign? We get it already. Gay marriage is the most important thing on the face of the Earth to you but for most Americans it is not a very pressing issue.

Most Important Problem

People tend to worry about shit that actually effects their lives. Your queer next door neighbor canning preserves with his husband doesn't. Get a life, Mrs. Kravitz.

Two gay dudes using each other's anus as an artificial vagina (closet issues anyone?) and canning jam is fine as long as they don't try to adopt kids and deprive them for life of a mother. That's when society draws the line. Don't believe me? Canvass anyone who grew up with a mother and father and ask them..

I think you spend more time thinking about "two gay dudes using each other's anus as an artificial vagina" than gay dudes. I think you're subconscious is trying to tell you something!

In what way does this nosy and whiny rant prove that gay marriage caused Trump's lead to shrink? It doesn't. Wishful thinking coupled your own imagination isn't evidence. One state doesn't allow gays to presently adopt. One. Society doesn't seem to be buying the smear you're peddling.

Doubtful... nobody gives a shit what homosexuals have to say, now that their dominance over the other 97% of the country is about to come to an end...

In what way does this nosy and whiny rant prove that gay marriage caused Trump's lead to shrink?

The polls before the ads ran, even after all the other gaffs Trump made showed him ahead by 15 points. Immediately after the gay marriage ads ran, his lead shrank to around 5 points. It bumped back up to just 10 points because of absentee ballots who didn't have time to see the ads.

After the multiple attempts of the GOP to find a weak scale and nothing stuck to Teflon-Trump....this one took out the main engines on his starboard flank..

To quote amateur Volemort impersonator and strategist, Jame Carville; "It's the economy, stupid." That is what people care about. Not some some loon gassing on about artificial pussies. lol
