They can’t buy food from those hot buffets you see at the grocery stores,What are the restrictions other than tobacco and alcohol?
Really? Then why is Trump being blocked at every turn he makes in outlining the spending of our funds? No. The government has the right to outline how taxpayer funds are spent.
Why are they not allowed to buy hot prepared food? You mean theuy must eat cold, unprepared food? After all, they’re not allowed to use food stamps to buy alcohol or hot prepared foods.
Is a piece of cake for desert junk?If they want to buy junk, they can use their own money.
But I can carry that reasoning forward to most anything YOU do, that is why. How does one get diabetes drinking one can of sugar free diet Coke a day? I never knew you were such a fan of big government deciding on how you live. But why should taxpayers fund their purchase of soda and candy, and then when their poor habits lead to diabetes, have to fund the treatment of THAT too?
There should be a list:SNAP should ONLY be able to purchase needed staples for health. No pop, no candy none of that shit.

You’ve changed. I think someone hacked your account. You are taking the liberal position - that welfare recipients are as “entitled” to use other people’s money to buy whatever they want as responsible, self-supporting people do.Really? Then why is Trump being blocked at every turn he makes in outlining the spending of our funds?

Because the logic extends if you are going to reason that people forced onto a government program must lead an austere lifestyle for their own good that so should everyone else otherwise it becomes targeted discrimination.
Unless you can show me someone on welfare who literally lives on cramming their face full of sugar drinks and candy bars all day long.
There should be a list:
Chicken, fish, beef, eggs, cheese, juice, milk, cereal, tuna, bread, bags of frozen veggies, fruit, PB&J, and basic condiments (mayo, ketchup).
You have the freedom of choice for what YOU can afford. If I am paying for YOU, I should have a say.LOL! I'll bite:
Paternalistic actions implemented against a class of people solely because of their financial status.
It takes a little piece of the poor person's freedom away..and creates a subtle social difference.
I remember never taking free lunches as a kid..because of the stigma of handing in a specially colored ticket that designated me as being one of the poor kids...so perhaps I take it personally.
Choice is freedom...and it is not up to the Govt. to police people's food purchases.
thats just fucking stupid,,So if you are in a car accident and receive an award in compensation, it should come with the stipulation that the money can only be spent on essentials of life?
How about no vacations, no movies, no children, and no TV too?
When do we start sterilizing the poor?
How does a 90 year old disabled person bound to a wheelchair better themselves to get off food stamps?
Show me where the program says anywhere that the food stamp program is intended only for nutritional healthy food? Isn't the problem in this country that mostly none of our food meets that standard? Not unless you cook and make it yourself.
Amazing how otherwise free thinkers think freedom and liberty should only be reserved for THEM in a country FOUNDED on freedom and liberty.
So if you are in a car accident and receive an award in compensation, it should come with the stipulation that the money can only be spent on essentials of life?
If they earn enough money for all that, fine. How about no vacations, no movies, no children, and no TV too?
When do we start sterilizing the poor?
That’s because he’s espousing the liberal position. There should obviously be exceptions, but able bodied, working age people shouldn't be getting food stamps to begin with.
You realize you have crapitus agreeing with you...![]()
It's my money so yes.
I’m telling you…..he’s using a liberal tactic. Taking a reasonable position (no soda with food stamps) and going to a ridiculous extreme (sterilizing the poor.)thats just fucking stupid,,
It is not your money.
And even if it were, it costs just as much spending $200 a month on junk food as it does spending the same $200 on fish and vegetables. So you are not saving yourself a dime.
No one plans on being sick or poor. What I'm waiting for is when some day when some of the people here calling for bread and water for SNAP recipients get sick themselves and are told they cannot have anything but cabbage, beets and corn to live on!
Just replace SNAP recipient with ANY OTHER GROUP (illegal alien, Gitmo detainee, Jew, Black, etc), and tell me the government wants to restrict what they are allowed to eat to see just how wrong you really are.
Sure it is. Just as you were forced into the undesirable situation of being injured, many people are forced by others through no fault of their own onto food stamps. Why should a person working in a warehouse badly injured and forced onto food stamps have to live an austere life through no fault of their own even when it doesn't save a penny? Not comparable. That money is to compensate me for an injury. It’s not a “hand-out” like welfare is.
How do disabled people earn money? If they earn enough money for all that, fine.
