Are the laws against murder, assault, and arson unenforceable?

I think you have just illustrated the problem with gun control laws.

They, like most of our laws ,don't prevent crime from occurring, they simply define what behavior is prohibited and what the punishment is for violating said laws.

Unfortunately a significant segment of the population seems to have an unreasonable expectation that our laws function to prevent crime, which they rarely if ever do.

If I were a taxpayer in Maryland, I would be pissed. Quit passing laws that will clearly be thrown out. Spending tax dollars on this bullshit should make voters reconsider who they are voting for.
