Fifty Years After Saigon: Remembering the Nobility of a Betrayed Cause

Nope, the war was over. The RVN supported by SEATO had won. The PRVN started a new war a year later after being resupplied, rearmed and given a new, armor heavy European style army by the Russians at no cost.
Agreed. I’m surprised you finally got something right.

Of course, you would have supported our government going back in an continuing the war. The American people told idiots like you to **** off.

I was in the Army during that war. Hell, yes, I supported winning the war and supporting the RVN against communist aggression.

Rod Martin the football player? Interesting that Martin and all the left wing pseudo historians still blame Nixon when LBJ got us into the mess with a fake crisis and set the rules so that we could win every battle and still lose the freaking war.

Lol. Obviously we couldn’t win that war and never should have been there.

Do you think the domino theory still might happen?

Do you have any idea how many people died during that dumb war, because of our criminal government’s involvement?

We did win the war or at least forced the PRVN to sue for peace.

RMN could have changed the rules but did not.
Does that excuse LBJ? Johnson was a phony from day one. As an officer and typewriter corps clerk in WW2 he once claimed to have flown over enemy territory and recommended himself for the Silver Star. The FDR democrat administration recognized a fellow traveler future democrat politician and approved the recommendation and the media never researched the decoration. Like JFK it seems that LBJ relied on the civilian bureaucrats in the CIA while Generals in the Military were bypassed. To make a long story short the media had already turned on Nixon

We lost they won. Only toothless wheelchair bound Boomers even remember.

That was literally FIVE WARS AGO.

I'm neither toothless nor wheelchair bound. I'm a better shot now than I was when on active duty. I am fat and out of shape, I will admit.

We as a nation have learned nothing from our criminal government’s non-stop wars. Now much of the public reveres the military and easily supports new wars based on propaganda. Wars designed to enrich and empower a select few.

No doubt you support Dumb Don going to war with Iran, based on nothing but lies and Zionist demands.

Since WW2, what country turned out better after the US invaded? Original Trump is right. **** all these guys.

LBJ and the CIA set the rules so that Americans could win every battle and still lose the freaking war and the (most trusted) media spokesman Walter Cronkite seemed to agree at the time . Just when it seemed that the V.C. was defeated after the Tet offensive and the V.C. were defeated ,the LBJ administration threw in the towel in a mainstream media and announced that LBJ quit.

Anyone who wants to get some idea of what a brutal, oppressive police state North Vietnam was and what a murderous dictator Ho Chi Minh was should read three books: Dr. Lien Hang Nguyen's 2012 book Hanoi's War, Dr. Christopher Goscha's 2022 book The Road to Dien Bien Phu: A History of the First War for Vietnam, and Dr. William Duiker's 2001 book Ho Chi Minh: A Life.

The idea that the Hanoi regime would have held fair, clean elections in 1956 is beyond absurd and borders on either extreme gullibility or adherence to Communist propaganda.

Getting rid of Diem in 1963 may well have been a major mistake. he had faults for sure but towards the end of this article the communists said over throwing Diem was the dumbest thing the US could have done.
~~~~~~
Just another major error by Democrats....primarily under JFK..
South vietnam was a real nation and the north refused to hold elections so there were none to take part in
What you get is comic book level propaganda which is what you just posted you stupid ******
The Us was defending an ally not engaging in imperialism and it was the communists NOT the vietnamese you ignorant retard
Viet Nam and JFK's removal was Johnson's savior from going to jail. and getting even richer. It did bring the US economy back from the post Korea adventure, although it started the current banker-mic-inflation cycle. All wars are banker wars. All of them. They still are, too. What U. S Companies Profited During The Vietnam War? - A Bus On a Dusty Road
