EV's at the tipping point

In our current STEO, we forecast that most of the growth in U.S. electricity generation in 2022 and 2023 will come from new renewable energy sources.

not taking into consideration all the nuke decommissions....

How many decommissioned nuclear plants have been?

About 200 commercial, experimental or prototype power reactors, as well as over 500 research reactors have been retired from operation. About 25 reactors have been fully dismantled.

as well as foreign electricity

People on the left are generally emotionally driven. Logic is of no value to them. Evidence is meaningless.
If you can capture their emotions....they are yours.

Thus their enamoration with EV's, "Green Power", Climate Crisis, Socialism, Communism, racism and Unicorns
They will fall for a well played, powerful marketing / emotional pitch every time.
You must use this to your advantage.

Nonsense.
People on the Right are generally God - fearing. Whether he exists or not, that gives at least some mediation to such tendencies.

You, and Leftist have no such moral compass or guidance and are driven by your own lusts, desires and passions.
Your argument is baseless and again, emotionally driven.

BTW, using something that is patently false as a tool will probably backfire spectacularly.

I'm curious what you think this has to do with "Evs at the tipping point".

Gods are just a patronizing excuse for hatred and violence. All humans have the same "moral compass" as it is a product of human society not religion and atheists are generally the most moral of individuals.

definition CONSERVATIVE: averse to change or innovation and holding traditional values. (in a political context) favoring free enterprise, private ownership, and socially traditional ideas.
definition LIBERAL: willing to respect or accept behavior or opinions different from one's own; open to new ideas. relating to or denoting a political and social philosophy that promotes individual rights, civil liberties, democracy, and free enterprise.

It is unfortunate many on the right and left politicize every issue. This has occurred for some time, but I suspect it wasn’t this way a few decades ago. The 24/7 news cycle may have something to do with this. The corporate media has pushed division so thoroughly, many Americans believe foolishness.

I think increased communication and social media algorithms on the internet may have pushed us to the almost 50-50 split we now see and that that has led to radicalization and closed-mindedness on both sides. The tides used to shift but we now seem locked into deadwater.

I believe these divisive tactics are planned and promoted by the powers that be. They want Americans divided so they can continue to empower and enrich themselves.

I don't. The 50-50 split has only made things unstable and unpredictable. It was better for them when one side would hold an advantage for 4-8 years and then it would change hands. Have you ever seen data about how many congressional votes crossed party lines in the past?

It doesn’t matter which party is in power. Both are owned and controlled by the same entities. Big corporations (big oil, pharma, military) and the billionaires call the shots. The people have little say in anything.

$31 trillion in debt yet Americans don’t have HC, higher education, job security, etc. but the wealthy and big corporations have done extraordinarily well

I doubt that. EVs are terribly ineffective. Kinda like the Covid vaccines.
The covid vaccines have not been "terribly ineffective" and EVs work quite well for commuting and in-town travels. They suck for long distance and they're still pricey to purchase.

Vaccinated people get infected at a much, much lower rate than the unvaccinated and when they do, suffer far less severely and almost NEVER require hospitalization.

Your comments on EV's are mainly correct.

You are miles off on the jab.

It is not just ineffective, it is turning out to cause MORE, and longer infections.

Of course there are level 1, 2, and 3 chargers. Since most people do not drive more than 40 miles in a day, a level 2 can charge a completely empty BEV in 4 to 10 hours depending on battery size So you would need to charge about 10 kwh's to make up for the average daily use of an EV. Maybe two to four hours while you sleep. Hardly the big deal you make it out to be.
Here's reality for me. I drive 40 miles to work, and then 40 miles home in my van. Between these two journeys, I often travel to suppliers, and even go an get a digger in it's plant trailer from the hire firm. The top speed of my van is approx 100mph. My van does this no problem and I refuel every couple of weeks.

The same van in electric starts at nearly double the price, has a "reported" manufacturers range of 120 miles, it can't tow, and it's top speed is 75mph. I live in an upstairs apartment, parking is on the opposite side of the road and the charge point is at Tesco's 1 mile away, but can only be used when shopping for a max 2 hours.

So let's talk the practicalities of EV's!!

And the answer, "There will be something on the market for you before new ICE vehicles are banned", is the rather hollow answer I often get from pro-EV'ers.

Cart, horse springs to mind. If EV's are so good, then why aren't vehicle sales 100% EV and zero % ICE? And if EV's are so good again, why do they have to forced/legislated onto people? If you want a fair market, shouldn't EV's simply compete?

It looks as if you'll have to wait till your apartment complex has Level 3 chargers in the lot with discounted fees tacked on to your rent and new vans are out with sufficient range and towing capacity to meet your needs. Till then, enjoy your ICE vehicle. What exactly is the problem? No one is saying you have to buy one right now.
