Us says Iran wants to make a deal....Iran says no they don't.

The strait is still closed....Iran isn't budging and in fact threating to do even more.

yet we continue to hear that we're on the brink of peace.

Shrug.....

I mean....what is this?

Not sure. Not sure who is the head of the Mullahs in Iran.
Not sure if the Mullahs are saying what they are for the optics, while
they are working to get a deal. Not sure if Trump is putting too much
lipstick on a pig.

I think Trump made a mistake last February he can not lie his way out of. Iran has made it clear they will not accept a "peace" deal that allows Israel free hand in Lebanon.

How long can Iran last?

GoogleAI Overview:

"Iran has prepared for a prolonged war of attrition lasting at least six months, with some insiders and analysts estimating the country can sustain the conflict for an even longer period. [1]"

6 months from 28 February brings us to Labor Day, at which SPR resources will likely have expired, two months before mid-terms :auiqs.jpg:

The problem that Trump faces is that any future Democrat President will try to negate his foreign policy achievements, just as Biden did with the
Afghanistan withdrawal. The Iranians know this and are playing for time.

Obviously, Iran does NOT want to make a deal, because for one thing, the USA stopped warring them as soon as they ran out of big military targets they can take out from air or sea. It is now down to the nitty gritty where soldiers need to go in there and start fighting door to door. Iran has spent 50 years preparing for a street fight, that is their turf. Americans will start crying soon as ten Americans get killed. So of course Iran wants no deal because once the deal is sealed, their options are reduced--- why talk or sign anything when they believe they can stall us endlessly?

The strait is still closed....Iran isn't budging and in fact threating to do even more.
The Strait is actually open to any ship not coming from or going to Iran. The USA just disabled an Iranian ship that ignored their warnings and tried to bypass the blockade. It is now adrift at sea. Only thing stopping anyone else from using the Strait is because the insurers in London are pulling their policies under fear Iran might make good on a threat to shoot at them, and maybe for the better as no one wants to see a widespread ecological disaster.

We are. We have Iran in a neck lock strangling them. All they need to do is agree to a deal where they lose bigly, and I don't think they ever will, which means that sooner or later, we go in Hot & Heavy, and damn the torpedoes.

What about the claim we are out of ammunition and ordinance? I doubt that. Look at the bombs we used in WWII. Look at all of the bombs, rockets, drones and missiles tiny Israel (size of New Jersey) has used against Hamas in Gaza, against Iran, and now is using in Lebanon? Have you ever heard Israel say they were running low?

The USA is built around fighting a high-tech war against a capable superpower and defeating billion dollar defense systems. Iran is built around fighting a low-tech war in the trenches.

Iran is trying to get us into the trenches while the USA is trying to keep it high tech. Hegseth better get his head on straight that there will be no peace, no resolution in Iran until we go in there and hammer the living bejeesus out of these people. America compartmentalizes its military: bases, the Pentagon, etc.; there really is no way of separating the IRGC from its people as the IRGC is all through the country everywhere, under hospitals, next to schools, etc., they have spent billions of dollars and half a century digging in and fortifying underground preparing for a trench war.

It looks like an old fashioned standoff.
