Episcopal Church refuses to resettle white Afrikaners, ends partnership with US government

Trump is trying to kick them out.
you buy every scrap of “News” regardless of the nature of the claims made by some undisclosed individuals.

The actual story, of course, is that allowing folks in because of a war and some odd behavior of the demented prior President doesn’t require ire that we permanently have to keep them here.

Im astonished that these so called christians should have the means to embaress the great man like this.
Their so called faith is shown up for the sham that it is.
Sham or scam who can say ?

That they care more for a unch of ragheads at risk in Iraq or the Stan than these poor downtroffen boers is telling.

These poor christians flee their homeland in the middle of the night on a private jet to be greeted at Dulles by a government delegation. What could be more heart rending ?

If america wants to sreate a white homeland in North America it needs to support Mr Trump and his christian efforts. As te bible says

Blessed are the boers. They are truly the children of God and a righteous foe of the darkie who doesnt belong in the Cape anyway.
^^^^^ Limey lush brain. There ain't no more BOERS----now there are white people in South
Africa who constitute a minority IN DANGER-----ever meet one? I have----since 50 years

They can just pack up and head home.

Once a Netherlander, always a Netherlander.
I still don't get the whole reason behind this move by Trump. Is it Stephen Miller, drunk with power? Elon? I mean the ramifications run deep, including the administration's court battles against judicial orders stopping, even reversing, orders of deportation to asylum seekers here legally.

Is there anyone even remotely competent? Did anyone run a risk/analysis, especially concerning the mid-terms. How much just how vetted are these people? It is a valid question. But more importantly, what did this administration seek to gain? Messaging, are you kidding me?

Trump was, for all intents and purposes, thrown over the finish line by Latino voters voting Republican. He also made strong gains with the Black community. And he should be commended for that. But to piss it all away in one dumbass action. To gain what?

No I actually read news not MAGAFOX. You should try it some time.

But you won't because The Leader cannot be wrong.

Your practiced petty-ass routine is quite unoriginal, dull and baseless.

Absolute nitwits, like you, always assume that anyone you disagree with “must” be a Fox News loyalist. You’re so shallow.

Putting your bleating braying jackass hee-haws aside:

You read bullshit and buy it without any corroboration. You’re truly kind of a dickhead.

You didn't refute my post.

Why do you assume that black or hispanic voters would be offended by offering refugee to these refugees?

you made no point----the adjudication does not consist of a jury trial and years of appeals---
just administrative hearings----you made no point
You can't be told things you don't want to hear, can you?
What rights do refugees have under the 1951 Convention?

The cornerstone of the 1951 Convention is the principle of non-refoulement contained in Article 33. According to this principle, a refugee should not be returned to a country where they face serious threats to their life or freedom.
Other rights contained in the 1951 Convention include:
  • The right not to be expelled, except under certain, strictly defined conditions (Article 32)
  • The right not to be punished for irregular entry into the territory of a contracting State (Article 31)
  • The right to non-discrimination (Articles 3 and 5)
  • The right to decent work (Articles 17 to 19 and 24)
  • The right to housing, land and property, including intellectual property (Articles 13, 14 and 21)
  • The right to education (Article 22)
  • The right to freedom of religion (Article 4)
  • The right to access to justice (Article 16)
  • The right to freedom of movement within the territory (Article 26 and Article 31 (2))
  • The right to be issued civil, identity and travel documents (Articles 12, 27 and 28)
  • The right to social protection (Articles 23 and 24 (2-4)).

You mean the bipartisan bill was not necessary?

Bad business the government getting in business with churches. That's like when they partner up with organized crime or freedom fighters that are useful for a brief period. If their machinations can't stand alone maybe they shouldn't try them. As for the Africans, after they kick out the people that used to get things done, they will begin to infight and starve to death in less than a year, so those will be the new "refugees". The beat goes on.

Seriously, well let's contrast this Afrikaner population with Trump's favorite scapegoat, Venezuela. I am interested to see the demographics of these Afrikaners. But what we know now about the Venezuelan refugee population.

Compared to all U.S. immigrants, Venezuelans are far more likely to have a college degree and less likely to be naturalized citizens—the latter an unsurprising development given the recency of their arrival. They are also more likely to secure legal permanent residence (also known as getting a green card) after being granted humanitarian protection.

Venezuelan immigrants tend to be younger than the overall foreign-born population but older than the U.S. born. Their median age in 2021 was about 41 years old, compared to 47 for all immigrants and 37 for the native born. Venezuelan immigrants were more likely than the native- and overall foreign-born populations to be of working age (18 to 64 years old

Venezuelan adults have higher rates of educational attainment than both the native- and overall foreign-born populations.
In 2021, approximately 57 percent of Venezuelan immigrants ages 25 and older reported having a bachelor’s degree or higher, compared to 35 percent of U.S.-born and 34 percent of immigrant adults. The share of Venezuelan immigrants with a college degree is even higher among those who arrived between 2017 and 2021: 62 percent.

Venezuelans participate in the labor force at much higher rates than the native born and overall foreign-born population. About 74 percent of Venezuelan immigrants ages 16 and older were in the civilian labor force in 2021, compared to 66 percent and 62 percent for the foreign- and U.S.-born populations, respectively. Venezuelans were more likely to be employed in sales and office occupations than other workers

Venezuelans are more likely to be covered by private health insurance and less likely to be covered by public insurance than all immigrants and the U.S. born. The share who were uninsured (17 percent) is slightly lower than that of all immigrants

Educated, more so than native born Americans, working age, more likely than the native population, labor participation rate, highest of all immigrants and most all of them have higher labor participation rates than native born Americans. Hell, they are even more likely to have private health insurance than native born Americans.

These are the very qualities that have been presented as justifying these Afrikaners. Difference, seven million Venezuelans have fled the country in the last decade. How many Afrikaners have fled South Africa, how many even want to? Furthermore, many of those Venezuelans passed through the Dorian Gap, ON FOOT, while the Afrikaners sailed in on a private jet paid for by the American taxpayer.
