Did you hear that white guy that the south african government brought to meet Trump?
He tried to put a positive spin on the lives of him and his family...

but, it sounded like horrific racist oppression, at least, and really it sounded more like white genocide than not.

There is a genocide of white farmers in South Africa.
This conspiracy theory has been propagated by some fringe groups of white South Africans since the end of apartheid in 1994. It has been circulating in global far-right chat rooms for at least a decade, with the vocal support of Trump's ally, South African-born Elon Musk...
South African police recorded 26,232 murders nationwide in 2024, of which 44 were linked to farming communities. Of those, eight of the victims were farmers.
Data collected by white farmers themselves also does not support the notion of a genocide. Afrikaner farmers' union TLU-SA has counted 1,363 white farmers murdered since 1990, or an average of 40 a year - far less than 1% of total murders...

It was in the meeting at the white house. I saw the guy speak, trying to spin his life and the lives of his family as "ok", but it sounded like a horror show.

In my experience-----which is VAST because I IS OLD----white Afrikanners have been fleeing for the past more than 50 years-----especially professionals who were also prosperous over there. There was already social disorder back then. ---- The history of that country is actually----not at all strange---something like a caste system-----similar to the one brought to the Americas by the Brits and Spanish and to the Levant and Southeast Asia by the Muslims

There is an unacceptable level of violence in South Africa, the vast majority of victims still being Black.
White supremacists are being fed calculated lies. That does nothing to address the problem.
As I stated ---I is old---I spent lots of my working years in inner city emergency rooms and saw lots
of victims of violence----lots were blacks and because of my particular training I saw lots with bullets
in their heads. So what does that tell you? White farmers are being attacked in the Congo? I didn't know

It is irrefutable that Trump falsely claimed that the picture taken in Goma in the Congo in February depicts racial genocide in South Africa.
It is no more credible than his braying that Black immigrants are eating pet cats and dogs in Ohio.

Have you ever encountered people who fled South Africa in the past 50 years? Have you
ever encountered Haitians? Did Trump actually use the word "GENOCIDE"? I absolutely
agree that Trump has a problem (a strange form of dysphasia) His utterances are OVER THE
TOP --but he does express a "grain of reality" White farmers in South Africa are losing their
lands and OTHER whites of various professions are facing some difficulties on a racial basis.

The facts are that Trump lied about South Africa, and about Springfield, Ohio, in both instances targeting Black people.
Attempts to rationalize such lies are futile.

Is it OK to use "historical reality" to justify the massacre of people who have a 200 year old claim to farms and property? How did taxpayer funded PBS get to be an expert on African genocide?
