It's cultural thing. There is a Mexican culture. Many of the
people in the USA are of highly mixed western European
background---ie --they have no culture. It's a manifestation
of THE AGE OF EXPLORATION

In a striking move that ends a nearly four-decades-old relationship between the federal government and the Episcopal Church, the denomination announced on Monday (May 12) that it is terminating its partnership with the government to resettle refugees, citing moral opposition to resettling white Afrikaners from South Africa who have been classified as refugees by President Donald Trump’s administration.
In a letter sent to members of the church, the Most Rev. Sean W. Rowe — the presiding bishop of the Episcopal Church — said that two weeks ago the government “informed Episcopal Migration Ministries that under the terms of our federal grant, we are expected to resettle white Afrikaners from South Africa whom the U.S. government has classified as refugees.”
The request, Rowe said, crossed a moral line for the Episcopal Church, which is part of the global Anglican Communion that boasts among its leaders the late Archbishop Desmond Tutu, a celebrated and vocal opponent of apartheid in South Africa.

Interesting that the ‘relationship between the Episcopal Church and the federal government was close during Obama and Biden’s terms. No so with DJT. This explains it all.
Episcopal Church Bishop Mariann Budde "a valued and trusted pastor" admonished President Trump is also in agreement with this decision.
There is nothing reverend or pious about deciding the plight of 'White Afrikaner' refugees fleeing genocidal tyranny.

The American Episcopal Church, once a noble and honorable institution of devout Christians, has gone full 'woke' over the last several decades, and, like other denominations who have embraced wokeness, it is bleeding membership by the tens of thousands every year. It is attracting few new members so its membership is rapidly severely aging. Many believe that if it does not reverse course, it could cease to exist sometime in the not all that distant future.
Those still capable of intellectual honesty/intellectual integrity have mostly left the Church in favor of other Christian denominations. Many, if not most, have gravitated to Anglican groups that still embrace all the important components of what the Episcopal Church once was.
Some say the demise of PECUSA is because its attempt to become far more Catholic beginning in the late 1970s. But the more intellectually honest--including I hope myself as one who though not Episcopalian myself has had dedicated involvement with that denomination including working for it for a numbers of years--know that it became lost once it started embracing all the elements of wokeness.
Wokeism and Christianity have a difficult time co-existing unless a person shuts his/her eyes and ears and refused to hear or see anything he/she does not want to see and hear.
