Enough with the Trump tariffs are destroying the economy threads

Is that not the same president that shitler! idolizes and wants to return our country to economically.

It's not a coincidence marty. Those tariffs cratered the labor market and sent our country into an economic depression not prosperity.

And letting foreign countries dictate our trade policies and rates will?

How do they do that marty.

Didn't the current idiot in the WH negotiate the current trade deals with both Mexico and Canada?

You have to go back to the 19th Century?
I see where poor otto105 has gotten stuck in one of your inane circular cult rants.

Now about that going back in history:

“We were at our richest from 1870 to 1913. That’s when we were a tariff country. And then they went to an income tax concept,” Trump said days after taking office. “It’s fine. It’s OK. But it would have been very much better.”

You forgot the income tax Abraham Lincoln imposed

August 5, 1861 On this day, Lincoln imposes the first federal income tax by signing the Revenue Act. Strapped for cash with which to pursue the Civil War, Lincoln and Congress agreed to impose a 3 percent tax on annual incomes over $800.

Decades of imbalanced tariffs, governmental interference with trade, and in-government subsidizing on a scale far beyond what the US does.

It's only "circular" because you idiots are like the dumb rat in a maze who finds and keeps biting at the electrified cheese.

Hilarious marty

How much potash do we have domestically? How much high-grade nickel?

Do we have enough oil to fuel our economy?

If we were to exploit it properly, we would have plenty.

Same with Natural Gas. We have a whole Region in NY State we don't touch.

And for every metal we don't have access to, we make up for it in our agricultural output.

The three biggest exporters of strategic minerals are South Africa, Russia and China.

The first is working its way towards collapse via racial revenge, the 2nd is one we want to pressure with more sanctions and for some war, and the third is just your basic failed communist asshole-state.

The old Republicans (many Liberals at the time), decided to play the game "pay as we go?"

Wow! Imagine, paying your own way. Makes me think of the British colonists in North America who pursued a rebellion with debt -- and then paid it all off.

Then how about those McKinley tariffs in 1890-94. Can you post what was the result of those.
