Dr. Fauci Concedes the Coronavirus Mortality Rate May Be Much Closer to a Very Bad Flu

Well well...
The case fatality rate is far, far lower than we’ve been lead to believe. Are we willing to destroy America over a bad case of the flu?

____________

On Thursday Dr. Fauci co-authored a report on the coronavirus in the New England Journal of Medicine.

The report, entitled “Covid-19 — Navigating the Uncharted”, was co-authored by Anthony S. Fauci, M.D., H. Clifford Lane, M.D., and Robert R. Redfield, M.D.

Here’s a direct quote from that report:

“If one assumes that the number of asymptomatic or minimally symptomatic cases is several times as high as the number of reported cases, the case fatality rate may be considerably less than 1%. This suggests that the overall clinical consequences of Covid-19 may ultimately be more akin to those of a severe seasonal influenza (which has a case fatality rate of approximately 0.1%) or a pandemic influenza (similar to those in 1957 and 1968) rather than a disease similar to SARS or MERS, which have had case fatality rates of 9 to 10% and 36%, respectively.2

The last time there was a "very bad flu" was 1918.

The article says a severe flu has approx 0.1% death rate.

Fatality rates for Covid19 vary from country to country, and the data isn't certain yet but it seems to be between 0.31 and 1.94.

Spanish flu was 2.5.

Forgive me if I take the word of Dr Fauci over a stranger on the internet....

From about two days ago: New cases. Spain is going crazy over there. Italy, you know. Iran, can't believe anything they say, but it's bad in Iran and they don't have medical care at all. The Netherlands, not a lot of cases, but a lot of people dying. 25 out of 100, out of the million population. That's big. The fatality rate is a percentage. 10 percent in Italy. So, you have a 10 percent chance of dying if you get corona in Italy. Spain, 7.5 percent. All right. France, 5.5 percent. The USA. 1.5 percent. 1.5 percent. Great Britain, 5 percent. The Netherlands, 6 percent.

What case fatality rates have you been led to believe exist? The ones the article Fauci co-authored gives?

On the basis of a case definition requiring a diagnosis of pneumonia, the currently reported case fatality rate is approximately 2%.4 In another article in the Journal, Guan et al.5 report mortality of 1.4% among 1099 patients with laboratory-confirmed Covid-19; these patients had a wide spectrum of disease severity.

The moment I heard Fauci sent Hillary Witch Clinton letters and emails saying how much he loved her and adored her....

Then I researched a bit about him...hehe

And yes the little prick is totally Deep State.

Go away Fauci....dissapear into the sunset. We don't need you.

Link?
It's true. I posted the link recently. I'll try to find it for you. He is a Hillary devotee!

He adores her! that tells a lot about him! what a ^&**(()

If true it takes nothing away from his integrity as a medical professional. He has even defended Trump's response to the crisis. I don't see a medical expert occasionally correcting a reality TV star as some deep state plot to undermine the president.

Common sense and math. Read this again -

They didn't just figure out that there are millions of people with coronavirus that are asymptomatic.....

let's hope the numbers don't get that high over 22,000 this flu season in America

I hope that this doesn't turn out as bad as many experts have been suggesting. But I if Fauci is correct in his assertions (and your interpretations of his assertions are correct), the problems with how contagious the virus is doesn't change. More people will get this than they the number who get the flu. That means the absolute number of deaths will be higher. It also doesn't change the fact that the rate of infections that require hospitalization are much higher and it's hurting our hospitals. The fact it's so contagious is the biggest issue. I mean, if this thing was 100% deadly but hard to transmit, then we would not be in this situation. But if every person gets this, and even if only .1 - .5% die from it, that is a huuuuge number.

So you are making a comparison of deaths by all other causes combined to deaths by covid19?

Kind of dishonest.

What I said was:

The University of Washington study predicts 80,000 deaths from Covid 19 by the end of August.

I said from April 1st to August 31st, 1,125,000 will die from other causes.

If you stack the 80,000 on top it becomes 1,205,000 total.

The covid 19 deals will be 6.6% of the total.

I don't know what would be dishonest about those numbers.

In reality, I should have gone from March 1st. That would put the percentage at 5.6%.

No shit and people who can think, have had some varied life experiences, are educated, are involved with and ok with society, have achieved some privledges for themself mostly via hard work, and who don’t hate Trump or the USA-ALL FOUR OF US HERE said that from the start
The next orchestration will be when anti Trump governors and those with a liberal agenda will drag their feet allowing people to get back to work and life, they want more economic and social cripples; it’s their main support.
