The former president isn't a lawyer but that's not stopping his aim to deliver his own closing argument, sources say.

Former President Donald Trump aims to deliver his own closing argument Thursday in his New York civil business fraud trial in addition to his legal team’s summations, according to two people familiar with the highly unusual plan.

Trump is a defendant in the case brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James. She claims his net worth was inflated by billions of dollars on financial statements that helped him secure business loans and insurance.

An attorney for Trump informed Judge Arthur Engoron earlier this week that the former president wished to speak during the closing arguments, and the judge approved the plan, according to one of the two people who spoke to The Associated Press. Both persons who confirmed the plan did so on condition of anonymity because they weren’t authorized to disclose the information to reporters.

The Trump campaign and a spokesperson for James declined to comment.

That should be interesting. Risky, but interesting. What do you think?

God I hope you’re right

Hilarity ensues

What's "risky" about it? The trial is rigged, being held in a jurisdiction that hate Trumpsters.

President Trump's speeches are usually pretty interesting and will catch people's attention.

You know what they say about about an idiot that represents himself..:auiqs.jpg:Geez, even if I wrote his entire argument for him, I wouldn't let him open his mouth.
He riffs and goes off script.

the day before the end of the trial he will come back and tell his followers his lawyers said it was not a good idea

If any of those jurors have kids displaced from school by Biden’s invited migrants or family victimized by illegal alien crime he may find a receptive audience indeed.

Or if they are feeling inflation or had to step over homeless on the way to court or are using credit cards to pay bills, etc. Trump would be sounding pretty good.

All of that is bullshit, but either eay, what does any of that have to do with his fraud trial?

There are no jurors.

Furthermore, just because you are willing to be a corrupt juror for Dear Leader doesn't mean everyone else is.

I don't think there are jurors in this case.
