Zone1 Does anyone else here believe (as I do) that ALL who ever lived will live forever with God in his kingdom?

I believe in God in the sense of the unknown but not as described in the Bible. I grew up going to church and was really into it for many years. I’ve studied many of the major religions and recognize that they all have good things to offer but are also very flawed and abused by the man made institutions around them.

Agreed. I don't belong to a church, although I was a "run of the mill" Catholic for the first 50 of my 57 years in this world.

I believe the lesson of our lives is this. We are lost from God for a period of time and during this time he allows false religions and false doctrines to exist. We oftentimes follow people and ideas that are NOT of God. All of this is about preparing us for his kingdom. I believe that we all share the collective experiences of ALL mankind. Otherwise, how would a person who died as an infant learn? At the end of this lesson we will have learned that God's way is the ONLY way. He allows evil to exist for this very purpose. However, the evils and suffering in this world don't remotely compare to the ecstasy that awaits us. At least, this is what I think it's all about. Even Satan, who is doing EXACTLY what God created him to do, will be transformed and will worship and serve God alongside all the rest of us.

Humans are the one who thirst over translations of God's word. Most of us do not read Hebrew. Two things, both originally from rabbis:
  • All of scripture may be summed up in one sentence: Love God, love your fellow man. The rest is just commentary.
  • Scripture is meant to be studied, not read.
God made each of us unique, and despite our common humanity, we all find ourselves in unique situations. I don't know who first said this, but I've heard it often: The Bible is for all. One may splash in the shallows or dive deeply into its depths.

There is always something new to learn about God and always so much we do not know of Him.

Well said.

I liked your post but the sad truth is that very few people "thirst" for God's word. Even you defer to the Catholic Church when their teaching is in contradiction with God's word.

Some may dwell in the House of The Lord forever. I'd be happy to just be in the neighborhood. :dunno:

I consider myself "agnostic but flexible". I don't think humans have the capacity to see into the future. Most of the death and misery I see in the world is in the name of a deity. Look at Isreal....

In all seriousness, when I see subhuman shit like this, I don't think there is any reward in an afterlife for it.

That’s a nice philosophy. Thanks for sharing

Chapter and verse?

You're doing it again, you're making extraordinary claims that go directly against the basic teachings of Christianity without backing yourself up.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that Christians collectively are always correct. I can think of a couple things off the top of my head that I believe most Christians have wrong.

All I'm saying is that you need to back yourself up. Because when you make claims like "Even Satan is going to be in heaven alongside us with God" you are not only contradicting the bible but you're misleading those who need salvation, and ultimately making salvation entirely meaningless.

I'm going to page a couple people....

We are called to believe in and love Jesus and one another and to genuinely try to follow his commandments. I believe that anyone who does those things goes immediately into Heaven when they die.

Are you aware that Satan will be locked away after Christ's return to Earth? Are you aware that a millennium later Satan "must" be released? Why will God release Satan?

That didn't answer my question. You made the claim that even Satan will be in heaven with God alongside us. My question was chapter and verse? Please back yourself up, don't deflect.

Why not "page" God's word?

We have been doing that. It appears that your mind is made up that the numerous scriptures that contradict universalism are untrue or misunderstood, and the one you keep pointing to is the only true one.

But as I said in my previous post, please back up your statement about Satan going to heaven.

I think they're going to pay an extraordinary price for their lives of extreme evil. However, God will eventually allow them to repent and be saved. Trust God's judgment. 😇

You're argumentative and hostile. I'm trying to help you.

You misunderstand God and you misunderstand Satan.

When Satan wanted to torment Job, what did he do? He asked permission.

Why must Satan be released? Satan must be released or our earthly education will be incomplete.

Not all truth is spelled out in the Bible. A few minutes ago I shared a plethora of scriptures about how God, through Jesus, saves all people. Did you read them?

I hope so brother. I do believe in a God, I just get very cynical about the methods of joining with Him in an afterlife.

Being raised catholic is a trauma that's hard to shake. :laughing0301:

You think so? I laughed, and I think God did, too.

1 Corinthians 15:22-28
22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. 23 But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ. 24 Then comes the end, when he delivers the kingdom to God the Father after destroying every rule and every authority and power. 25 For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy to be destroyed is death. 27 For “God[c] has put all things in subjection under his feet.” But when it says, “all things are put in subjection,” it is plain that he is excepted who put all things in subjection under him. 28 When all things are subjected to him, then the Son himself will also be subjected to him who put all things in subjection under him, that God may be all in all.

Asking you to back up an extraordinary claim that goes against the scriptures is not being argumentative.

If you make extraordinary claims that go against basic Christian teaching, it is right and necessary to back yourself up. It's not unreasonable to ask for scriptural support.

And if I seem testy it's because I truly hate to see people misled. And I believe you are misleading people, including people who need salvation.

Ok, I just read the last sentence in your post ("Not all truth is spelled out in the Bible")... so it sounds like you're at least somewhat admitting that your view about satan is not in the bible, you seem to be basing it on other things.

You think so? I laughed, and I think God did, too.
Well you do. We've been over that. I believe in the authority of the Bible, sola scriptura, as they say. You reject sola scriptura and believe that the Catholic Church has some God-given authority to invent anything they like.

Nowhere in that passage does it say Satan will be in heaven alongside us.
