And your point is...
That's not proof. Do you have any proof that Jesus cared only for their simple agenda, liberation theology, self determination? That's what you claimed, right? Prove it. What evidence do you have?
So? My college taught calculus but I never learned it worth a damn. He moved past his fundamentalist education and is now agnostic, I believe. He studied at the Moody institute which teaches the Scofield heresy.

Can you prove it?The sermon on the mount is liberation theology. Jesus is teaching the Jews passive resistance to Roman oppression.. to occupation. He's teaching them to shame the enemy.
Can you prove it?
That doesn't prove your claim at all.Sure. Read it. Jesus teaches them specifically how to deal with oppressive Roman laws.. like turning the other cheek, carrying a Roman soldier's pack 2 miles and handing off your cloak when a soldier demands your coat.
Hardly. The sermon on the mount is liberation theology.
So did the socialists and that doesn't mean anything at all because they got it wrong too. Your problem is that your account flies in the face of the entire NT. So unless you believe there is a major conspiracy that lasted 350 years and forged 24,000 written manuscripts, your argument falls apart. And if you do believe that then your argument falls apart due to the stupidity of the claim. I'm afraid you are going to have to accept the fact that Jesus is exactly who He said He is.Of course it does. Have you never read it?
Gandhi and Martin Luther King studied the Sermon on the mount extensively.
Hardly.
The narrative that Jesus is a political figure flies in the face of the entire New Testament account of Jesus as the Paschal Lamb. That's some conspiracy theory you guys have.
First, Liberation Theology is the effort to get the government to address the needs of the poor. There is not indication that Jesus was trying to have Rome lift Jews out of poverty. It certainly was radical for the times when Roman occupation and oppressive Roman laws were the burning issues of the day. Jesus taught the Jews not to resist the enemy... To shame them instead.
First, Liberation Theology is the effort to get the government to address the needs of the poor. There is not indication that Jesus was trying to have Rome lift Jews out of poverty.
Second, calling people to remember who they are, people of dignity who first remember God and His ways, is not calling on them to shame Rome.
MLK Jr. didn't believe in the divinity of Jesus like you either. So if Jesus isn't divine, he's a political figure. You can't have it both ways.Political figure??? You sure jump to conclusions. He was ministering to his flock.
More proof that you believe Jesus was a political figure.Jesus wanted to lift them above the yoke of Roman oppression. Your reading about government and the poor is too narrow and misses the political climate of the times. The various Jewish factions we're battling each other and the Romans. It was a sure path to disaster.
Remember, Jesus told them his kingdom was not of this world.

More proof that you believe Jesus was a political figure.
