Democrats: You're not there yet.

And?

Do you need me to explain what the means, Winger? I'm sorry...I forget you're more of a "bumper sticker" kind of intellectual.
You need to back up your point

I am still waiting

My point that Obama economic policy had little to do with the economic rebound that finally happened? Let's look at his agenda, Winger! At a time when millions of Americans in the Private Sector were unemployed and burning up their life's savings...what was the first priority of the Obama Administration? A redoing of the healthcare system that injected so much confusion into the economy that businesses were hesitant to hire? A stimulus that kept Public Sector workers employed and did little to nothing for those who had lost their jobs in the Private Sector? Proposed Cap & Trade legislation that would have increased costs across the board for American companies? Waging war against Big Coal and Big Oil?

You know what saved Barack Obama from going down in history as the worst jobs President in the history of this country, Winger? It was the midterm elections in which the Democrats got "shellacked" losing more seats in the House and Senate than any party has lost in modern election history! If THAT hadn't happened the worst recovery from a recession since the Great Depression would have only lasted longer and hurt more people!
Let’s look at cause and effect. Obama’s stimulus directly led to a reversal in the collapse of the stock market, positive GDP and the job market.

A stimulus bill that not a single Republican would support

It had nothing to do with it. DumBama's success (if you could call it that) was the feds pumping trillions of dollars into the stock market. He had no control over that. The Pork Bill only focused on a few industries, and mostly government jobs. It had noting to do with the economy. It had to do with rewarding unions for supporting him.

All it shows is the commie was in the right place at the right time. An economy couldn't respond in a matter of days. It's impossible. Quantitive easing started in December of the prior year which is a few months from where your chart shows an increase in jobs.
It shows that the Stimulus that The Great Obama passed prevented a Depression

A Stimulus that not a single Republican voted for

It doesn't show that at all. It's in your head. Hell, DumBama couldn't even get his hands on the money yet. Sorry, but you didn't build that.
Funny how Republicans treat Stimulus during an economic crisis.

When Bush requested TARP and Stimulus money, Democrats supported him for the good of the Country.

When Obama requested additional Stimulus, not a single Republican was in favor. They wanted the economy to fail.

When Trump requested $2.2 trillion Stimulus, Democrats supported him for the good of the Country.

Any guess how Republicans would treat such a request from President Biden?

Republicans didn't support it because it was Pork Bill 2, and Pork Bill 1 was a complete failure. Why would Republicans support two failures?

Democrats again loaded this stimulus with pork and delayed it for a week. If they didn't support it, they knew without a doubt, they could kiss the White House and the Congress goodbye, and Nancy could return home for a long due retirement.

Not to worry though. Trump will be reminding people of their demeanor during this crisis at the debates and as we near election. He will not let people forget.
No more pork than was in the Bush stimulus. Republicans have their own pork and you are naive if you can’t see it.

Trumps $2.2 trillion stimulus is loaded with pork and Republicans had no problem supporting it.

Pork? Pork means things that are not related to the problem. What pork do you speak of?
Giving money to people who are not affected by the virus

Pork, Pork, Pork
Votes, Votes, Votes

He's not giving money to people because they might have the virus, he's giving money to most people to try and stop an economic collapse. It's not pork by any definition of the word.
The economic collapse is not because people don’t have money, it is because businesses were forced to close due to virus

Throwing money at the problem will not get those businesses open any sooner

Pork, Pork, Pork

I don't think you know what defines pork. Pork is what the Democrats did; stuff the bill full of partisan goodies that had absolutely nothing to do with the virus or economy. There is nothing partisan about giving everybody money equally. When businesses do open back up, they will depend on people with money to spend, buying their products or services. That's how the economy will kick back up.

Trump added an additional $600.00 a week to unemployment. If somebody gets $400.00 a week from their state, and add that $600.00, that's equal to 60K a year when you consider taxes. In other words, some people will bring in more money than when they worked for a living.

An unemployed couple that has the income level of 120K a year will have plenty of money to spend on those businesses, especially around here where the cost of living is reasonable. The downside to that is they will do whatever they can to stay on unemployment. While that might be bad and costly, it will also continue money going back into circulation.
You think Republicans don’t give PORK

How will $1200 payouts end the virus any sooner?
How will putting $2.2 trillion into the economy get business open any sooner?

But you are right
When Democrats do it, you guys call it Pork
When Republicans do it, you call it Stimulus

So you think giving the average working American $1,200 to help them survive this crisis is "pork"?
You know what Winger...there is a reason that blue collar Americans are turning away from the modern Democratic Party! You don't give a flying fuck about them or what they're going through and haven't for some time now. They're finally wising up to it.

How is giving people who are not impacted by the virus a $1200 payment not PORK?

ALL money should go to those fighting the virus, those who are sick, those who lost their jobs in the shutdown

Giving money to people who are still working, students, retirees is nothing but PORK

Because doing otherwise would take much longer to sort through the red tape of who get and doesn’t get help. The $1200 is designed to help everyone and the more you make the less you get. They have the PPP, probably the best plan out there, from the SBA that is a nightmare for small businesses to get. When it was rolled out it was supposed to have a same day turnaround, it’s been a week and the plan is muddled in red tape.

The $1200 helps everyone, quickly, there are other plans like the additional $600 unemployment buffer that should rollout only to the unemployed.

The issue now is the government trying to figure how to get the money out faster.

Well let's look at that, Winger! The people that are still working have been putting their lives at risk to keep the country running. There have been calls for "combat" pay for them...so let's call the $1,200 a "combat" bonus! You on the left want to forgive student debt but don't want them to get a $1,200 payment? Interesting concept! Retirees? What do you have against Grandma and Grandpa, Winger? I thought it was the GOP that wanted to push Granny off a cliff? Now it's the left that wants to leave them out of the stimulus? What about all the retirees that were having to work part time jobs to make ends meet and because of their age were afraid to leave their houses?
Still PORK

I just don’t see how throwing money at the problem is a solution. Our economy is in the dumps because the virus forced business to shut down.
Giving people $1200 will not solve that

The $1200 helps everyone, quickly, there are other plans like the additional $600 unemployment buffer that should rollout only to the unemployed.

Yes, and Republicans met him half way by allowing the spending for small business, given the fact small businesses are our largest employers in this country. But you know how Democrats are, it's either all their way, or no way at all.

Yeah, he sure is doing everything he can to tank the economy. It isn't the Democrats who are pushing against any drugs that will resolve the problem and are hoping beyond hope the stay at home order can go on for months and months.

Those would be the drugs all the doctors say shouldn't be used because that's not even what they were designed for.

Actually, the Dems want more and McConnell is cheapening out.
The matter will be resolved next week.

Yes, he's trying to keep unnecessary spending down. The point is that it's the Democrats who are holding up the works, not the Republicans.

I do believe you when you say you got out of bad neighborhoods. You're the epitome of the white people here when it was a mostly white suburb; telling everybody how we need to color the neighborhood up more; tell your black friends and coworkers to move to our suburb.

Um, actually, no, the place I'm talking about was Cicero, IL< which was already a largely Hispanic neighborhood when I moved into it shortly after leaving the Army. I bought a fixer-upper for $55K, put maybe 20K into fixing it up, and sold it for $110K, not to mention years of collecting rent from the second unit in the building. (I never, ever want to own rental property again after that experience.)

The town, run by Republicans, was notoriously corrupt. Our mayor at the time, Betty Loren-Maltese went to jail in something that was mafia-related. (Cicero was also notorious for having Al Capone knock over the government in 1921)

When their dream started to become reality, they were the first ones to pack their bags and get out of Dodge. That's what you hypocrites on the left do. In realty, they were nothing but a bunch of phonies who moved from here to the whitest community their money could afford, just like you did.

Wrong again, bongo. The only reason I moved was because the Tenant I really liked moved out, and I had a really good chance to cash in and move somewhere closer to where I work, because I REALLY don't like to drive. So better to cash out then, at a profit, then to start again with new tenants and commute 25 miles each way.

No, not all the doctors are saying that. Many are using hydroxychloroquine to treat their patients with some amazing results. Believe it or not, Viagra was not created for ED. It was created for blood flow problems to the heart. It was discovered by accident that it was also a good medication for guys with ED.

My my. All the time you ragged on me for my profession, and you can't stand even driving to work. All you had to do is drive in a straight line.......simple......right???

I've been a landlord for a little over 25 years now, and that's something you apparently had a problem with too. Seems to me I've been doing things with my life that you had difficult times doing yourself, and you did a fraction of what I did.

Not sure what "all" doctors you are talking about. Most are prescribing to patients as warranted, which is why the FDA approved them. Most are prescribing them for each other as well as a safeguard. Other countries are trying to keep these drugs from leaving their country. Several pharmaceutical companies are ramping up production of hydroxychroloquine. I can't imagine why.

This is just another case of you read and believe the dribble you are spoon fed.

“One of the first things taught in introductory statistics textbooks is that correlation is not causation. It is also one of the first things forgotten.” Thomas Sowell

Ray, you got some splain’n to do

View attachment 320588

Still PORK
Giving money to those who don’t need it .....in an election year

Business is closed due to a virus. Getting more money out there will not help them open any sooner

Biggest PORK handout I have ever seen
There was a report a week or so ago that if the 2 trillion dollars was just doled out to the taxpayers getting the 1200 dollars that each one would receive 13000 dollars instead.
I just don’t see how throwing money at the problem is a solution. Our economy is in the dumps because the virus forced business to shut down.
Giving people $1200 will not solve that

I thought you just said Schumer wants to throw more money at the problem? So the Democrats are the problem, right? It gets hard to keep all this anti-Trump stuff straight doesn't it?

You know, all the jokes about Trump followers drinking the Koolaid will have to be replaced with "Drinking the Hydroxycholoroquine"

My my. All the time you ragged on me for my profession, and you can't stand even driving to work. All you had to do is drive in a straight line.......simple......right???

I have vastly more productive things to do that drive, that's my point. Driving is a waste of time. I've often found my happiness with a job is directly related to how little time I spend driving to it.

I've been a landlord for a little over 25 years now, and that's something you apparently had a problem with too. Seems to me I've been doing things with my life that you had difficult times doing yourself, and you did a fraction of what I did.

Well, True, I was doing things like 1) Getting a college degree. 2) Joining the army and becoming a non-commissioned officer, 3) advancing in my career field and 4) Starting my own business.

So, yeah, I was a landlord, realized that I really didn't like cleaning up after other people, and never looked back at it.

Because you can sell any kind of quack medicine to stupid people, that's why. And there's no one stupider than Trump supporters.

The $1200 helps everyone, quickly, there are other plans like the additional $600 unemployment buffer that should rollout only to the unemployed.

The issue now is the government trying to figure how to get the money out faster.

The way to get money out faster to the people is to get rid of Democrats. I hope we all remember that next election.

The rest of the story.....

Democrats, led by Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York, had pushed for a package totaling $500 billion, including the $250 billion in small-business funds and an additional $100 billion for hospitals and $150 billion for states and local governments.

Yes, and Republicans met him half way by allowing the spending for small business, given the fact small businesses are our largest employers in this country. But you know how Democrats are, it's either all their way, or no way at all.
Actually, the Dems want more and McConnell is cheapening out.
The matter will be resolved next week.
Yes, he's trying to keep unnecessary spending down. The point is that it's the Democrats who are holding up the works, not the Republicans.
WTF?

He is already at $2.2 trillion with no end in sight

THOUGHTS FROM AN INDEPENDENT

Democrats: In order to defeat Donald Trump, you need 2 things: 1. To expose Trump's weaknesses, and make a case that he is unfit for office, and 2. Make a good case for why your candidate is better. Well....you've made some progress with item 1. No so, with item 2. Joe Biden may be pretty smart and reasonably qualified, but he, like Al Gore in 2000 is about as interesting as a sack of lawn fertilizer. You're not there yet Democrats. Joe Biden is going to have to do something to ignite the Democratic base, or Donald Trump will waltz into a 2nd term.
There is no alternative presented. We are stuck with Trump because everyone else sucks.

4 more years...

Those would be the drugs all the doctors say shouldn't be used because that's not even what they were designed for.

Viagra was designed to treat heart angina.
Minoxidil was designed to treat blood pressure.
Flomax was designed to treat the prostate and is found to be effective in relieving kidney stone pain.
Aspirin was designed to treat pain and it is now used to lower the risk of a heart attack.

Hydroxychloroquine is showing promise in the field of helping to treat Covid-19, there are doctors in the US that are using it now and it is legal, and the FDA is running further tests. France has approved it in the treatment of the Covid-19. It seem it needs further testing but It is helping some and not others as many medications will do or not do.

Your claim is erroneous.
