The average size of these droplets are 100 to 200 times the size of virus particle. N95 filter efficiency is at least 95%. However, it's efficiency at blocking droplets are near 100%. This makes these masks suitable for isolation rooms where viral doses are extremely high and aerosol particles exist. For public spaces such as restaurants, grocery stores, and large gatherings, they are an overkill. These masks are like a chain-link fence, against mosquitoes, as far as obstructing the passage of viruses. They are mostly open air, with gaps that are hundreds of times bigger than any virus.
