"By having schools closed, by having primary health care services disrupted, by having nutritional programs dysfunctional, we are also creating harm, Aguayo said. He cited as an example of the near-global suspension of Vitamin A supplements, which are a crucial way to bolster developing immune systems. "

Who could have foreseen this?

Answer: ALL OF US. We all knew that the shutdowns were causing economic hardship. But we didn't care. And now the most at risk are literally dying by the thousands.

Now began to tally the results of all cancer screenings being delayed for a year.

The UN put out a study months ago saying this would happen. I posted this on April 18

"Apr 18, 2020

The secondary effects will be enormous and may well outweigh the benefits of this shutdown, especially if it drags on.

Anyone claiming to know otherwise, when those costs are only beginning to be estimated is patently full of shit.

U.N. warns economic downturn could kill hundreds of thousands of children in 2020
Hundreds of thousands of children could die this year due to the global economic downturn sparked by the coronavirus pandemic and tens of millions more could fall into extreme poverty as a result of the crisis, the United Nations warned on Thursday.

Nobody cared.

We destroyed the world economies that were supporting these people and so now they're dying.

And we knew it would happen, but 'lockdowns save lives'

Yeah right. This was a failed strategy on so many levels it is impossible to count them all....

Add in the rise in suicides.

This is the World Health Organization doing this. These are UN mandates. The UN warns. What claptrap. End the shutdown. End the lockdown. These children and adults are being killed to save them from covid. Instead of food it looks like the UN has no problem handing out masks.

One of my middle sisters best friends from church had continuing abdominal pain back in March. Thanks to the fears of the virus the doctors refused to see her for three months. When they finally examined her they diagnosed end stage Pancreatic cancer.

Now, with Pancreatic cancer it might've been too late for any effective treatment no matter what. But still I wonder how many weeks, months or years of life they deprived her of because of the Corona virus fears.

That is very sad. You are right that effective treatment was probably not in the cards. But yes, losing three months of time, certainly could have had a significant impact on what they could have done.

That is close to worse case scenario. A terminate illness not being diagnosed, in a timely fashion.
