Cancelling Student Debt?

It's a horrible idea because its unfair to those Americans who worked 2 and 3 jobs and got very little sleep busting their asses to pay off their student loans. Do they get their money back? Why reward failure to pay off loans with loan forgiveness?

Also, those with big loans usually have big degrees so they will make good money when they start working.

As the saying goes, "you gotta pay to play" and loans are no different. You want that big degree so you can make that big money? You gotta pay for it, like anything else.

Kids are ingrained with you have to go to college from birth-
The schools got their money
That banks don't is a good thang- they can write it off-
That it's a political football is not surprising-

As long as we are going to continue to plow billions into the markets I'm going to support things that spreads that around to as many as possible.

Cancelling student debt won't solve the problem of college tuition costs. In fact, it will only make it worse.

Probably so. Just like continuing to bail out the markets is only making the problem worse.

subsidizing education is a national investment in the future.
Education is merely a passing on of knowledge- Period- just as training is merely a passing on of knowledge-' the knowledge passed on, in some instances is accurate- in many it's useless- and, education investment is not in the constitution as a federal power- so, that could mean you don't respect the rules of governance "granted" but, instead, prefer the threat of force (democracy) used to validate your beliefs-

You've said some dumb shit before, but that's one of the dumbest.

How do you explain to kids who busted their asses working 80 hours a week to pay off their loans like responsible adults that all of a sudden kids dont have to pay off their loans and get free degrees? Do those kids who paid off their loans get their money back?

Also, kids who have to work to pay for college tend to do better. Think Lori Loughlin's daughter at USC.

Bankers aren't in a "market" per-se- they are federally insured entities who love legislation making them the benefactors- by BOTH sides-

Occupied knows that the undeserving students will be reliable supporters of big government in the future

Liberals: the only party where NOT paying off your loans is the responsible thing to do.
Higher education costs are a scam. So...those who paid these ridiculous costs and suffer under mountains of debt, deserve a jubilee.

Then, make higher education FREE! This will stop the scam and allow the availability of higher education to all who wish to obtain it.

Why can't you libertarian types ever just say "fuck the future"?

Instead of wage growth we opted for debt growth as the path to the middle class. The boomers sit around bragging that they started with nothing when today's graduates would be thrilled to start with nothing instead of a debt they will be paying for years and years.

“Boomers” didn’t go to college and rack up debt, they worked blue collar trades....You know, those trades your cherished wetbacks have destroyed.

I build houses. "Wetbacks" did not ruin my trade at all or hamper anyone who wanted to do for a living. I make pretty good money and I'm never out of work. If nothing else the "wetback" work ethic made us all better carpenters to compete and rid us of the crappy ones.
