This is the Bernie Challenge. Explain why you like him without using some justification that uses free stuff from the government. I bet none of you can do it.

"Can Bernie Explaining". We've moved on from plural abuse to gerund abuse.
Nothing like proofreading huh?

I didn't know that there was such a thing as "free stuff" from the government. My impression was that everyone had to pay for whatever they receive with taxes.

It's just a soggy myth they cling to rather than deal with the real. Like "Obamaphones".

Like I said...no one can justify his appeal without using the idea you might get something for free from the government.

I think this was answered by saying it is not free stuff...

By the way under your definition you got free stuff today in the form of transport (Roads), Security (Police & Firemen)... You probably benefited from an education under your free stuff...

Face it, you don't like socialism while living in a country with a lot of socialist programs like the Military & Healthcare...

That's easy. Sanders has always bucked the status quo Duopoly. He's done that his entire career, spurning the two-party system and calling them both out. One year the Democrats and Republicans ran a joint candidate against him and he STILL won. People respond to that, and it's got nothing to do with your "free stuff" mythology.

Sanders calls out the Oligarchy. There's no way to not see the appeal of that. That's why he has the highest approval rating in the Senate.

I like healthcare being available to everyone regardless of their ability to pay.

I like education being available to everyone regardless of their ability to pay.

The Bernie challenge is how will Trump pay for all the free stuff he's promising. They're both nuts.

The Mexicans?
You have the insurgent democrat and the insurgent "republican" both promising not to touch middle class entitlements! And winning votes on that too. LOL

I'd like healthcare to be available to all through a tax directly on capital. It "used to be" that employers felt a duty to provide healthcare. If not for that, we'd have had medicare for all 65 years ago.

I'd like education to be affordable. I don't see a need to pay for a kid's doctorate, but the loans are obscene. I don't want to pay for a kid to take 6 years getting a degree in Victorian literature. I'd like to have a way whereby a kid could "work off" his education.

Why not make that true for everything? Why stop your "humanitarianism" at those two items only? Why are you denying people everything else?

Why should the government back student loans for degress that are not lucrative or don't pay off. We should eliminate those since that is a waste of money.

Why not? Because I'm not as stupid as you are.

Why shouldn't everything in life be free? Why should we pay for food and shelter. They are just as necessary as medical care.

Nnnnnnope. Not only have I posted that several times before but I knew all this about Sanders before I moved to Vermont 25 years ago. It wasn't a secret. Certainly not a secret on the order of, say, how English plurals and infinitives work.

In any event, you axed your question and you got your answer.

Education was affordable in the 70s. Most workers had insurance through an employer. And we weren't socialists.

It was the insurance that pushed up the cost of health care and nothing else.
