What do polls say about young people and gun ownership

I know millennials tend to vote democratic by a large number. That is true for just about every generation since the progressive movement began. I did the same thing which is why I am not worried about this but I also know that millenials support gun ownership. How do you young voters who support someone like Bernie also support free gun ownership?

Millennials have had 16 years of hearing how good social is and how the government can decide their lives better than they can.

Also if you notice many or most are accustom to free stuff as they had parents that coddled them..

They had a pretty easy life compared to their parents and grand parents.

Any gun laws only affect the law abiding citizens..

According to Reason-Rupp latest polling data 52 percent of millennials favor capitalism over socialism and 64 percent favor the free market over a government managed economy. Donald Trump represents the kind of success that can be attained though capitalism and the free market, two things Democrats vilanize but that are positives for millennials. Millennials have positive views of capitalism and most believe that corporations earn their profits and are entitled to keep them.

Donald Trump represents hard work and a free market economy. A whopping 64 percent of millennials say hard work is the key to success and 40 percent of millennials say that poor life choices and lack of work ethic is what causes poverty, this is the exact opposite view held by most Democrats running for office.

Bernie has no problem with guns, does he? Vermont has some of the loosest gun laws in the country. Why would millenials have trouble voting for him because of that? What am I missing?
